I was going to do the WAE, but Red will be 11 days shy of 18 months on the test date so he can't do it til next year

I'll probably still do his CGC before then, but it would've been nice to do them together. ah well.

Go watch the WAE if you can, burns; it's very interesting to watch the dogs through the stations. I watched the WAE last year at the Perry show so I could see how the test went. I think there is one in the fall near me so I am going to try with both Rex and Cheers.

Good luck with the CGC.

Quaker City DPC will be having their WAE on September 20th near Allentown PA. The Penn Jersey club is going in with us for the second year in a row. I know that the Long Island DPC will be having one the week before us in NY.

Anyone in the area is welcome to come and watch .... I might even draft you to work it We pull from PA, NJ, somtimes NY and points north. We also get entries from West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware................

There are not many WAE's and so if you want to go through one you might have to travel a bit.

As far as a good age to go through it, 18 months is the youngest, but I would tell people that most dogs are not mentally ready for it till they are at least 2 years old.

I will caution people that if you plan on bringing your dog along to watch, that is fine, HOWEVER, if they are very noise sensitive, leave them at home. The pistol going off for every dog really bothers noise sensitive dogs.

If you are in the PA/NJ area and would like more info you can contact me as I'm the WAE chair for Quaker City.

Well, I'd volunteer to help if I was moved back to VA by the fall....but we've had no lookers on our Atlanta house yet! That is how dead the market is right now! Thank the Lord we don't have to sell it immediately or it would be worrisome.

I think there is a WAE in NC or SC in the fall. I'll have to go on the DPCA site and check again.

**Found it...it is in Charlotte, NC on November 15th.

That's a good idea, thanks! It's a fair drive for me so I guess we'll see how gas prices are by then... lol. I assume you can bring dogs to watch even if they aren't participating? It would be nice for Red to have exposure to that type of environment and hear the gun shots and everything.

I just wouldn't have him out on lead for a really long time, or he might get worried over the repeated gun fire and the threatening stranger who Red would see pop out from behind the car (or whatever) and advance on the tested dogs. I would worry that your boy would get upset over the course of many dogs being tested.

Kim - I am sure I could find a great job for you! Most of the time, I don't have people to take over after the break and it would be nice for people not to have to work the whole thing. Of course, that all depends on how many entries we have. Normally we have 20 something entered.

If you can get the day off, I can use you

hey - are you showing this weekend?

How does a noise sensitive dog pass this test? Is it possible?
