    Hi There,

when you post your dog - do you put the post down their ear canal or just sit it in the bottom of the ear well?

Hi, I really liked your instruction for posting, question: I follow the steps. But your posting looks like the ears stand up. After I am finished within a few hours my puppy's ears are leaning forward.. I post pulling the ear straight up as far as possible to put the post in. Still it tends to flop toward the front. She can perk her ears, just not as straight up. Any suggestions would be most helpful!!
    Thanks,

Hi there thank you so very much for showing your posting. Question : now in your opion there is no need to make your figure eight holding the two ears together? i have heard you should? and 2) if only one ear is needing support should you just do the one ear? i have heard you should post both even though one does not need it? Thank you

    Hello,
I saw your instructional ear posting tutorial and was filled with hope that I could successfully post my new pup's ears. I am about to adopt a dobe pup in mid Sept (he'll be 8 weeks) and was hoping to be able to maintain ear posting aftercare myself.
I am driving 3 hours to get the ears cropped at a highly reputable veterinarian in Wildwood, FL but will not be able to make the drives for re-postings. They said they would not recommend that I do the aftercare myself, would I be foolish to try? Or should I visit a vet every 10 days for the next however many months until the ears stand?
    Thank you,
    Anastasia

    Hello there!

I just wanted to say that your sticky post on the backer rod method was a lifesaver!!!!!! We were absolutely at our wit's end with Aries, our 3 1/2 mos. old pup. We'd used up our 3 postings with the vet and still had a floppy right ear (due to stunted growth around the cartilage - he had another puppy nip a chunk out of his ear). I have no idea how much an extra posting would have cost, but we spent the afternoon playing around with tampons, gauze, cotton pads, and medical tape. Much to our dismay, of course, he dug them out. The internet can be a wonderful thing. After a quick search of ear posting woes, I stumbled across your photo tutorial on this forum and I am just thrilled with the results!!! I'm praying that we'll be able to keep our sanity for the next 3 mos. of postings. Any other advice or info you have to share would be mucho appreciated as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!! :)

    Hi,
Beautiful dogs. I was wondering where you got the red pup from ? I had a female. "Lady" who had the same cowlick on her neck. I lost her about 2 yrs ago at the age of 11 1/2. She was a great dog. She had a great temperament and superior intelligance. Turns out that cowlick is a trait that has been passed down by the famous Dictaor von Glenhugel owned by Peggy Adams. He was basically the foundation sire for the american doberman siring 41 champions. Ive been looking for a pup like this for awhile now. Yliria

Yes we have a Nietzsche also, a 13 yr old red male. Since we have been adopting older(2-4 yr) dogs they have come with the names but we really liked that one. Sort of funny as we adopted him when we had Sal that was short for Salvador the Savior but we have never changed any names. By the way, your guy is a beauty and good luck with adding another. As I said, we aren't experts but have not only had 2 male dobermans a few times but also had a male shepard in the crowd for a while. Guess it's really up to the dogs.
