Emma - sorry I have not been on much lately. The vet can do a cross stitch to told the cartilage together and help it heal. It is a fairly simple surgery and if the vet knows how to do it it has always worked. You cut a line down the middle of the ear to the base and then cut across the bottom of the ear like an inverted T. Take out some of the excess skin and then put in two cross stitches over the broken cartilage. I recommend posting that ear as it heals so the stitches do not tear out. The scar tissue will then help hold it up

    Hello my name is Emma,
I have a male Doberman whom has one ear that flops and one that stands. I read some of your comments in other threads and I would be really great full if you could help me! The flop in right in the center of the ear and I have been told that he has a cartilage break in the ear. He just turned one, and he has really thick ears because he us European so I thought that it would just take longer to post but the cartilage is actually broken so I stopped posting. The other ear stands fine. What sort of correctional surgery could I do? His ears standing are very important to me but I don't want to do implants.

We have a UDC doberman club in Lees Summit. We hold workshops and training.
You can visit our web site Mid Central Working Dobermans Club of Missouri for info.

Puppies are too young to have left litter mates. Very sorry to read this. Contact Independence Animal hospital for ear info.

I was curious if any of your breeding stock came from Rhonda Camp? I live in Mexico just wondering.
