Hello. I am researching the breed. My two girls with PDD are now 15 & 17; my 15 yo is recovered! Yay!
That being said, I am now a graduate student in Developmental Disabilities and work with young children 0-5. I forsee me having a therapy dog when I am done and an advocate. I have many ideas and am looking to replace my Golden who was too exuberant and friendly to be a therapy dog. I once had a shep-x that may have actually had dobe in her. She epitomized what I am looking for and I will be posting this to the group today. What are your thoughts about a dobie being a therapy dog? I wanted to do what you are doing when my kids were younger and tried with a bc and a rough collie and it was a disaster. My shep-x was perfect. Great watchdog and bombproof with kids. Any input, pro or no for dobie is very appreciated. Thanks! Lynn

Hi, I was responding to your reply on the thread with "Ruthie" and buying a dobe from a not so good place and la la la....

You responded that DVMs don't get specific breed training and I was wondering if we could start a thread on that.

I just could not post an educational merit on that ridiculous thread.

My husband is a Vet and I have attended many Continuing Educational Unit meetings with him. There are many breed specific education presentations that are for the Vet audience.
Thank you. I appreciate your work in the animal field.
    Anne.
