Finally get to spend some time with my dog...

Hey all.

This is just a long frustrated rant about classes and time with my dog.

I was accepted into a really hard to get into program at my university back in July. (It's the only place in the world that it's offered.) It's really course intensive (I have to take 5 classes right now, and that's because I'm ahead of my group, next term its 6 classes) and to add to that, I have to volunteer and do public engagement activities as part of the program requirements. (The program is geared towards National Government Organizations, non-for-profit organizations, law, and international (or local) development.) Amnesty International being an example of this.

For the past month I have been up to my eyebrows in essays, projects, meetings blah blah blah blah BLAH!!!!!!!! These past two weeks in particular have been really intensive as far as due dates and I've had crying fits more then once due to the insanity of trying to get everything done all at once. (I started most of theses projects way ahead of time!!!)

I ended up staying at another house for the past week because it was closer to my university and it meant more time for projects and less time commuting. I was so down and upset I hadn't seen my furkid in over a week that I asked my sister to put him on the webcam so I could see him. I missed him so much. (He's spoiled when I'm gone.. What a leech.. ha.) It's incredible how much I miss him when I'm gone...

It's been so frustrating for me because I've really wanted to get Nooka involved at the Shutzhund club but due to classes, the 3 days the club is open, my classes go late on weekdays or I have a soccer game that conflicts with the club times on sunday! The TD of the club I'm interested in wants to set up a training plan. He also told me that since I'm not heavily competing I don't need to be out there 3 days a week. It took a huge load of stress off my shoulders because I've just tried so hard to be able to work out a schedule that works with the club hours 2+ days a week and it just was not possible. I've tried changing my classes and everything. The fact that the TD also mentioned a plan also made me feel like I'm going to be alot less lost in what to do in Nooka's training. I'm going to get somewhere with the work I've been doing with him! I've just had really no idea how to get from point A to point B in his Shutz training...)

I really want to get out there... It's been so flipping frustrating as I've wanted to participate in this sport for so darn long!!!! It's one of the reasons I got a working line doberman..

My classes finished yesterday... Thank god.(I had to get the H1N1 vaccine and I feel like I'm hungover and someone is repeatedly stabbing me in the shoulder)

I've managed to get an extension on a paper that I just would not have been able to finish on time.. No more classes= I can go spend some time at the club on weekdays.. Finally!!! I dont start class again till the second week of January, so that gives me a bit of time to get started on this training plan.

I'm finally getting more quality down time to spend with dog. He gets his nice long walks and such through all this insanity which helps relieve (my) stress, it's just nice to be able to go on theses walks and not worry about any time restraints and just watch him run his legs off and chase squirels and such. I even let him up on the bed with me for a nap yesterday (shots really kick the $$$$ out of me.).

Anyway, that's it for my rant and whinning. I've just been so bogged down.

Thanks for listening..

-maddy
