went from canidae als to Purina Pro Plan Adult Breed. Too much gas and flaky skin on PPP, so I will be switching to PPP Sensitive Stomach to see how he reacts.

Miles recently grew from of Wellness Puppy to Wellness Large Breed Adult Health. He loves his food and has no I'll effects from it. He is a little on the skinny side though and I'd love him to put on a little more muscle. Any suggestions? He's a year and a half and runs a few miles pretty much every day.

Thanks!

We went from Acana to Innova Senior. Vet wants him on a lower protein food because of his bout with Hepatic encephalopathy. Innova senior is the lowest protein we could find and still stay with a good food.

Maybe start adding some beef to his food. I add raw beef or chicken a couple times a week to ours kibble and sometimes a raw egg, and it seems to have helped add some muscle to our boy. Our girl has always had great muscle tone though. If you're uncomfortable giving raw you can cook it some. They love it.

I forgot one more bugaboo that further complicates things for choosing a kibble: if fat is the fourth ingrediant or even higher, studies show that it increases a dog's risk for bloat signifigantly, esp. large breed dogs etc. etc. arg I am pulling my hair out.

I just read that because Chicken Soup uses canola oil for it's fat, it cannot be too highly recommended by reviewers AHHHHHHHH plus meat content not high enough. So far I am really liking the looks of Orijen but the protein content still too high for a dobie pup, even in the large puppy formula (that is so screwy in my opinion... why make a large breed puppy formula with a way too high protein content???). I am now thoroughly confused.
Not true about the protein level. Read Orijen's White Paper for references.

Just switched Sky to Whole Earth Farms by Merrick. The ingredients are awesome, no wheat or corn, nothing I would count as excessive filler. Now, Sky is more apt to eat her food AND has achieved firm dark poos and has no gas!!! I think we have found our happy medium!!

I do not remember if I participated but here is update:
I feed my female Horizon Legacy Adult (grain free) - switched to this food 4 months ago, and my male gets GO! Natural Chicken (not grain free) - it is his second 15kg bag. Both have solid poop, shiny coats and lots of energy! I would recommend both foods hands down.

Blue Buffalo large breed puppy. Might switch later to Wellness. Just not a big fan of ordering of the internet. I just don't want to deal with shipping. But I will probably give in soon.

Zeus was on Canidie All Life stages from the breeder, but terrible gas. at about 7 months i switched him over time to Innova Large Breed adult.
he has also at his breeders reccomendations got some supplements
1/2 a B Complex vitamin
1 Vitamin E
1 fish oil
It's all from Costco I forget the exact size of the dosage but he's been on it all along once a day.

His stools have always been good. getting off the Canadaie he now never has any gas.

His problem is he's not a voracous eater and likes stews added so he gets that with his kibble. I wish i could get a kibble that was great for him and he would eat. I though we had that with Innova as he loved it at 1st but now he's not that crazy about it anymore.

We switched to Canidae, I had initially selected "Other." Canidae seems to agree with her much more than Natural Choice did.

Our old girl Gretchen eats Timberwolf and Canidae No Grain (doesn't like regular canidae) and Wolfgang eats regular Canidae until we run out of the 200 lbs. we purchased. We tried Taste of the Wild, no problems, it was just the cost of it that stopped us buying more.

We feed Nutro Holistic Formula (Senior and Adult formula). It is all natural and made from whole grains, salmon and vegetables. Dogs love it, coat is good, Dobergas tolerable, easy on the digestive system.

My two best friends..........Hannah (1998-2010) and Shelby Rose (2001-2010). I miss you both more everyday.

I like to buy Giants adult dog food brand. My boy eats too much, too fast so buying anything else simply crushes my pocket. Big bag for $10 or $8 when its on sale.

No gas problems, no skin problems. Basically everything looks good

We feed EVO and raw.I add organic 3-6-9, Vit C and Ground organic flax seed. On this the dogs looks AMAZING!
We have tried so many different brands and formula and the only 2 brands of kibble I now recommend are Taste of the wild and EVO. Of course also some form or raw diet each day.

Rocky was eating Natural Balance fish & sweet potato until he started getting serious diarrhea. They claimed that they didn't change the formula. Tried another bag but had to add rice! Switched to Wellness Large Breed...the gas was terrible!!!!! Someone recommended Solid Gold for Large Breed. Seems to be agreeing with him! I am giving hi a teaspoon of pumpkin before each meal!
