Hi there,
I have a 10 weeks old male cane corso. He is on antibiotics post ear cropping and I am becoming concerned about his ears. This is the first time I have seen something like this and I want to get someone experienced to look at his photo and tell me if it looks normal.

No photo?

Just speaking to a common poor practice that some vets use—do the cut unhealed areas of his ears have tape running across them? The sutured edge of the ear needs to be completely open to the air as it heals or you can have major problems. Many vets will put the ears up on a cup or foam wedge (in dobermans)—that's good, though it doesn't have to be done that way. But the cut part of the ears still needs to be open with no tape on it.

I don't know whether you actually post a Corso's ears because their crop is so short, but if you do, you need to wait until the crop is completely healed with no scabs or raw areas before you can start actually posting.

No picture--I've seen a few early Cane Corso crops and the ones I've seen have either had the ears taped over the head until the sutures come out or have nothing done until the sutures come out and all but one of the dogs had ear "posted" using the mole foam method. The other one had an actual posted ear--backer rod method.

Try sending a phot again Lisa Ann.
