You already have a puppy? Just a few days ago you said you were going to slow way down and take your time to find a reputable breeder...?

Yes, we have received replies from the different breeders from AKC site and DPCA. We even got in touch with a breeder from Fairbanks here in Alaska. It took almost week to get those replies but we were able to decide and we travelled to Indiana to get our puppy. We are so happy!

I'm frankly very surprised a good breeder had a puppy for you so fast. What breeder did your pup come from?

Zuko came from Indiana. Which breeder did you go with? Have your puppy's ears already been cropped, and if so, how old is your puppy and how long ago was the crop done?

Destiny Kennels from Ms. Montgomery. She hasn't been raising dobermans for a long time and she has 125 acre land. Our dobie has a wonderful temper and we met the pup's parents. He's 13 weeks old complete with all the deworming, parvo, cropped ears, unlimited AKC and full health certificate declaration from Kokomo Vet Hospital. Our local Vet Here in Alaska was super happy when she told us our pup is very healthy. We got him vaccinated and micro chipped too. We got him housebroken in 3 days and clicker training worked! We are super happy!

We are super happy he does not need leash because he follows us everywhere and answers to his name when called. We use it from time to time when needed like visiting a pet shop or the vet. He rings our special bell by the door when he needs to do his business outside and sleeps with us on our bed.

Wow to the 3 day potty training!!! Good going! We would go a few days then accident - I finally figured out that every time I told my husband "guess who didn't have an accident today?!" He would have one right after I said those words.
Oh ear posting.... i was so scared to post but practiced and practiced and finally figured it out- I even made a short video while I was doing it if you want you can send me a Pm. It's not pretty but I made the video for my sister , neighbor and step daughters who recently all got a doberman puppy. All you need is bounty select a size paper towels and Micropore tape. 2 items. Easy. They only last 1-2 days tho- just FYI. The backer rod method lasts much longer so if you need them to last a long time do that but if you don't mind posting every couple of days you can try the paper towel deal. The more you do it , the easier it gets. I was afraid to put the post too far into the ear and that was my problem. Anyway, have fun with your new puppy!

He has been house trained by the breeder so it did not take us a long time to get him used to our home., we had a few accidents but it got less everyday. ...LOL...

Thank you so much for offering to help! will be sending you a PM asap I am quite afraid to do this and our local vet charges $55.00 per ear posting...thank you

Well, it's too late now, but I sure wish you had listened to the advice that you said you were going to listen to when you were on here before. I hope that your roll of the dice doesn't end in heartache. A person selling Doberman pups on Hoobly and Facebook for $750 most certainly has not put in the proper health testing and the work that it takes to do things right. Best of luck to you. I have to say, it's always really disappointing when someone finds their way here (or to a chapter club or somewhere else helpful), gets really good advice and help, and then just buys from the very type of breeder that is doing our breed such a disservice...breeding thoughtlessly, the type of breeder that has dogs ending up in rescues and shelters, etc.

Thank you for your concern. We did not buy the pup for that amount though. We got him for double that price. We had all the vet information and all the dewormings and parvo etc plus the ear cropping etc. we even spoke with the vet in Indiana. We are certain our breeder knows what she's doing because she's been breeding for decades. She's shown us pictures of all her pups all through those years and she's a judge in horse shows too. We've even seen 2 of her dobies as commercial models in Chicago.
That's why when our local vet here in Alaska did a thorough check up, she was glad to announce that everything is done except for the rabies vaccine and micro chip which we did asap. Right now we are posting his ears and are happy with our Anubis.?

Well, then you paid double for a breeder that isn't putting in the work.

Again, I wish you nothing but the best with your dog. This isn't about that. I sincerely hope you stick around, read a lot, and learn what makes a good breeder. I hope that your pup lives a long and healthy life. I hope that you learn how to do better when you buy your next dog, because breeders like this one are the ones that are that are a source of endless frustration for rescues and for quality breeders. Some of the worst puppy mills and some of the worst breeders have been "breeding for decades" and price is no indicator of quality. I paid as much for my first Doberman, who was from a terrible, terrible breeder, as I have for my wonderfully bred dogs.

Everyone is very happy with their puppy when they first get them. Puppies are little joy machines.

Again, I truly, truly wish you nothing but the best for him. That doesn't mean I support where you got him and it doesn't mean I hope you don't learn to do better. I hope that you are open minded enough to learn about better breeding practices...hopefully you'll stick around and see why we're all really discouraged about why you made the choice you did.
