I think they look pretty good

Mayhem is my first doberman so I was really aprehensive about getting a show crop because of all of the things that I read (how they may be harder to get standing and they take longer etc.) but he is coming along nicely, I took some pictures a short while after taking off the old and putting on new posts. Let me know how I am doing and if there is anything that I should be doing differently/better. I got a couple action shots too so you can see how they stand up while he is playing.

and here are some without the posts in

Looks good to me!

Except that bridge, it's not necessary. Time to get those ear muscles going.

I voted - "looks good".
- and Mayhem has the super-cute red boy gene

We just stopped posting our Kelly at 6.7 months old...with the long show crop.
- initially we started the center tape bridge & had to go away from it
Early on, our girls ear tips tended to tip in & touch (on excitment) / so we eliminated the cross-over tape all together.
So we relying on her flexing her ear muscles, to work them both straight & upright...by counter-acting the vertical position.
- and it worked

Lots of early puppy pictures:
https://www.dobermantalk.com/puppy-co...d-kelly-8.html

Letting things work out naturally...without center tape, holding ears together. here
- allowing ears go to a more ideal 10:00/2:00 o'clock rest position...helped a ton

After an elasped time, ears straightening up really good...avoiding the early tip in...when posts were connected with white tape.
- in a perfect world, I like 11:30am/12:30pm clock position taped ears best

------------Kelly & (Amy - RIP @ 11.7 y/o)

AHHHHH! Welcome back!!!!!!

OP, looks like you're doing a nice job posting. You can try eliminating the bridge and see how he does, if you'd like.

I only do the bridge every 3rd time that I change the posts, you think that I should take it off for good?

Our puppies have the bridge the entire posting time and never go without it until they are in breathe rights. But I don't think you need a bridge at the top of his ears, just the bottom.

I think they look pretty good but agree that they probably don't need so much (if any) of a bridge.

If you don't mind. If you mark on the poll that it needs work please let me know why so I can make it better. I really appreciate everyone's feedback and I want his ears to be perfect

I personally still used a bridge at that stage, but just made it very loose - because if I didn't, the ears would fall over when they were relaxed due to the weight of the posts. And Red's ears turned out perfect
