That is still the old app but I have an iPhone so not sure if that makes a difference.

I appreciate all the hard work the web team has done in redesigning the site, however, I do have a couple of suggestions to make is more user friendly.

1) Instead of the red, switch it out to a soothing blue.
2) Get rid of or have something else on the home page. It's nothing but annoying adds and who wants to see that on a landing page. When you land on the home page, users have to click on menu to get to the forum anyway so it would be much more user friendly to have the active topics as your home page.
3) For those of us who use mobile apps such as PetGuide Free, the thanks option is not there. Any way that can be added?
4) Off to the far right of the top banner, there is room for two more pictures. It would be nice to see a puppy and a natural eared Dobe.

Thanks.

Elaine

Got it now, thank you. I never was able to find the "new" version....really guys PGfree versus PetGuide Free... lord that's so stupid close.

Got the new one now and it's working fine, though it's another new format to get used to sigh too much change!

Okay, now I can see the mods' names because they are now dark red on the classic view, but the usernames that used to be in black type with yellow highlighting are now yellow type, and darn near impossible to see.

Yeah... Its my ego! LOL. But now, as a Gold Supporter, I can't even read my own name (in Classic) in my Avatar, posts or thanks.

"3) The homepage is bright, crisp and clean.

We wanted the first page users saw to look beautiful, so that when a new guest arrives and is debating whether to join DobermanTalk.com, they see a beautiful doorway, and they walk right in."

am I missing something?

does anyone see "a beautiful doorway" on the home page?

I have asked them to look into this as the mods would still like to be able to put "Announcements" up like for the calendar contest and calendar sales, etc.

Thank you for your feedback. We will be addressing the issue of the forum colors in the next couple of weeks. I can't promise we'll go as far as changing it to a blue but we'll definitely work on getting a swath of colors that aren't as "hard" on the eyes.

I appreciate your feedback about the homepage. Hopefully, once we work out some of the kinks of the site, we can focus our attention to the homepage to put content on that section of the site that will be of interest to people who land there. Regarding the discussion of ads on the site, it's a discussion we will have to agree to disagree on. It's been discussed here in the past in detail and at the end of the day, I think we as an organization have been proactive to balance the business side of this site with the user experience.

I'll ask our tech team about the thank option on the mobile app.

Lastly, regarding the image: Are you viewing this on the app or on a traditional desktop view? On the desktop, I see four dogs lying together at the very right. There's no room after that. Now if you're saying to add dobes BEFORE that part, I'll ask our creative team.

Yung

What 4 dogs laying on the right?

I am on my desktop right now and have the "new" look up and running.

all I see is two cropped dobes to the left and two cropped dobes to the right, all the ears are chopped off looking..

I have still never seen the puppies some people mention.

now I am off to change back to the classic.

Thanks for taking suggestions into consideration. For the banner, all I see is the same as Darkevs. Two Dobes on each side. I get the same view whether I'm on a PC, laptop or iPhone.

I see the puppies on my desktop at work, but not my laptop at home. I don't know if it matters that I use Chrome at work and Firefox at home.

I'm currently on an Asus tablet, running Chrome. I just went to the new home page, and all I see in the banner is the four cropped adult Dobes. I don't feel like fighting my son for the desktop (Internet Explorer) or iPad (Safari) right now, but I don't remember seeing any puppies on them, either.

I have never seen any puppies in the banner. And, the Dobermans in the banner are missing the tops of their ears.

I get that a lot, but usually on Facebook. I have an older, very cranky, desktop computer.

Although the banner on the new skin is made of two images,it looks as one.

As you can see below, left image is the four cropped dogs and right image is four puppies.

That is the first image I have seen of these puppies!

Testing multi-quote.

Meadowcat: Can you try again? Click on the multi-quote button of the posts you want to quote. The button should turn light grey. Then click on the "quote" button (which is located in any of the posts).

For those who cannot see the full banner, can you please try clearing your browser history/cache and then refreshing? If you still can't see it after that, let us know what browser you're using to view the site and if you're using a computer or a mobile device.

Would it be too much to ask for the left banner photo to be resized so that we can see the dogs cropped ears in full?

No point in having cropped dog photos if their ears are going to be "cut" by the banner..
