When I accepted this dog as a gift from an ex boyfriend I had a feeling I shouldn't. Owning any animal is a huge responsibility and you have to understand certain breeds. I knew a little about dobes but I'm really not the best fit for this dog. And, after 2 years I certainly have given it my best. I really DON'T want to put her in a foster home. I'd like for her to go from my home to her new home. I will tell anyone who is interested everything they want to know about her. Please let me know what to do.

There's more, but this is a good start if you are interested in adopting a doberman from a rescue and giving it a new life.
I've been checking this site and it is temporarily closed.

Doberman wanted in Missouri

I know a good home that needs a good Doberman in Missouri. Unfortunately, the owner doesn't have extra cash to pay for adoption fees and/or vet fees. The owner wants a doberman so badly (female), but is disabled on a fixed budget. While the owner has money set aside for the care of the pet and pet insurance, the owner does not have extra cash. With all the dobermans who are going to be put down because no owner can be found, I would suggest that rescue organizations consider that those facts when a person is wanting to give a good clean loving home to an unwanted animal. I know for a fact that the owner did play and walk/exercise the dog daily, before her last doberman died due to cancer and diabetes. It's a shame to know animals are being Euthanized when there are good loving people who would take them, if given the chance.
