Looking for young adult Dobe companion for an older giirl

A few weeks ago I had to help my Beemo (see the red in my profile) across that rainbow bridge. A smaller Dobe at about 65 lbs, she was 8 1/2 when she left her sister and me to continue our journey alone. We have been family since they were 12 weeks of age and through the most tumultuous time of my life. Retired now, I live in a Toronto suburb where there are major parks and many neighbours who befriended us during our almost 6 years here. Suffice to say that the girls made many many friends here over the years, but Lola is feeling the loss as I am, and we are looking to fill that void.
Hoping to find a gentle younger Dobe that will help me stay active and give companionship for Lola as she enters her senior years.
We can provide excellent references and offer a loving home to another "forever dog".
You can find our story on Facebook if you search for Lola and Beemo. Just log on and search for "Beemo Toronto"

Not sure about gentle.

You could also check with rescues in your area. Be best if you could find one that fosters their dogs to evaluate them before placing.

So sorry for the loss of your girl, may she rest in peace.

Good luck with your search for another.

Maybe check Petfinder for your area, lots of Dobes in need of homes, maybe one just waiting for you.

Rescue would be a great place to look. If you are looking to go the breeder route you may want to look into Braebrook Dobermans. Because of the ban on ear cropping and it being cost prohibitive to travel to the US to have them done, and deciding to step back to spend more time with her children, she posted two young female dobermans available to show and or performance homes that may be worth inquiring about. She also wrote before years end they will be making available a few older adults to retirement which may also be interesting for you. So sorry for your loss.

Your pictures with your dogs are beautiful! And your red sounds like she was the perfect dobe at 65lbs. Good luck but def. send us pix when you get your new family member.

FreeKick13, interesting post. I wonder how many other breeders will be doing the same....cutting back or even getting out of cropped breeds.
Sad that braebrook will also be placing some of their older Dobes too.

Good luck in your search RicT.

Nothing fills that hole in one's heart like the joy of another Doberman entering it.

Very sad news indeed...braebrook was one of the breeders I stayed in pretty good contact with last year and even though I ended up with a different breeder, I always enjoyed reading their blogs on their dobermans, and Mariah is one of the nicest breeders out there. They also breed smooths and gsps which I think they will be continuing, but really sad to hear they are stepping back from dobermans.
