Looking for a sweet female to add to our family

I'm not sure if this is the right spot... Or if this is allowed, But here goes:

I'm looking for a sweet female Dobe. Age can very. Must be good with kids (5 yr boy & 8 yr girl). We recently lost our 4 year old Dobe to liver failure. Our hearts are broken, but we want to open our home to a new pup. Im not opposed to an adult or puppy. We just want a healthy happy dog. I'm located in AZ and would like a dog in state that I can meet.

Thank you

Check out desert harbor doberman rescue! They have so many sweeties that need homes. I'm sure they could help match you with the perfect dog

It looks like I won't be able to adopt a dog from Desert Harbor. I'm concerned that other rescues will turn us down as well. I guess a puppy is our best bet at finding a Dobie.

Why were you turned down? (if you don't mind me asking ~ there is no shame in it)

Because I have children. 5 & 8. There policy is to not adopt out to families with children under 8.

Looking for puppy/ young adult

Hi,
I'm looking for a female puppy or young adult. I have kids, so we are looking for a puppy or a young adult who has been around kids. I'm located in Tucson, AZ.

P.s. I have applied to rescues, but since I have young children (5 & 8) they will not adopt to me.

Desert harbor recently cross posted two female dobermans (ones a mix) on their Facebook page. Both girls are in shelters. I have no idea if they've been evaluated in anyway. One is a stray and one is an owner surrender.

If i do adopt, I would like it to be from a rescue group. They do a much better job with personality assessments as well health checks. Having kids in the house i want an adult who has lived with kids, even if its just in foster.

But I appreciate the tip

How far are you willing to travel? I know a good breeder with a litter on the ground.. 5 females, 1 male...all black and rust. She's in MI. Does not ship puppies, so you would have to fly into DTW or make the drive. Not sure if she shows out in your direction, but that may be an option to meet her if she's at a show out west. They were born in late September, so will be able to go home around Christmas time.

ETA: I have a family member in PHX that comes home for the holidays. He may be willing to fly the puppy back for you if you meet him at the airport and pay the fee to take the dog on the plane.

That might be a bit of a drive but I appreciate the information.

And I have a revolving door of kids 2 and up. She is just a sweet girl. The previous owners couldnt house a large breed (not sure why they bought her) so I rescued her for a fee. I just would like to recoup some of the cost that I have had of pocket. I hope to place her with a family and/or farm. She seems to enjoy horses

She sounds very nice smcgarrigle. But you are kinda far away. I'm currently talking to a breeder with a pet 1 year old...

And Desert Harbor sent me another email!! They said they looked over my app again and saw that my kids were raised with a Dobe, so they might be able to find a young dog that would fit in with my family!!

I actually feel as though our next family member might just be out there, within reach
