A friend of mine sent me this link a week or so ago, and I was FLOORED this dog is still available for adoption. Foster Dogs NYC: Meet Gina the Smart Dobie
Videos of her can be found under her name at this link: Hounds Town Charities
Now, I emailed them with a great deal of interest but she's not a good match for my household, so I figured I'd share what I learned.
"Gina was taught bite work in her previous home. We have no information on her breeding or extent of her training other than what we have seen firsthand. She was pulled from the home by a local shelter which we adopted her from.
She is a small, athletic build Dobe. Supposedly she had a false pregnancy also before we took her in. She is now spayed.
She has intense toy drive, not sure how that would translate to small animals like cats. But she is also obedience trained now (we put her through one of our programs) and responsive, wants to please. We do not really have cats at our facility to test her with. She boards at a doggie daycare facility the President of the charity owns.
She is crate trained in a wire crate.
She can be dominant with other dogs, she usually plays with males in daycare."
Someone go get this dog!! The folks who have her right now are very responsive and got back to me within 24 hours of my initial email.
