Hi, all!
I am new to DobermanTalk and new to Dobermans. I’ve had Boxers for 22 years and got two of my dogs through CGC and one of them into pet therapy last decade. On August 9, I lost my boy, Roman, to degenerative myelopathy and on August 29, I lost my mother to cancer. Needless to say, Summer 2020 hasn’t been great...but, on to happier things - I have been planning for a Doberman since April and have ‘gone down the DT rabbit hole’ of information on health, temperament, training, etc. I am looking at a few breeders whom I have found recommended here and have filled out puppy applications so we shall see how timing shakes out. I missing my boy and just having a big dog next to me 24/7 but know that the right dog will come my way at the right time. In the meantime, I am caring for my mother’s dogs and helping my father become a ‘dog person’ :2smile:
I don’t have a question (for now) but I did want to thank all of you who contribute your true expertise on this forum. It takes time to write thoughtful responses to questions both well-thought out and not-so-thought-out and I appreciate that effort to help educate we newbie. I look forward to learning more and, hopefully, sharing stories of my future Doberman.
Here are the girls (my mother’s) that are filling the dog void for me at the moment: https://www.instagram.com/p/CFumIUmhvAY/
Regards,
MM
