Bodhi had to get a mask

We broke down and got Bodhi a muzzle. We call it his mask. There are times when he gets out of control (he's 10 months old now) especially when it's not 'about him'. I get on the phone and he sees he is not getting all the attention (is he spoiled?) he starts getting into trouble. Pulling throws from the couch. Tossing sofa pillows around. I give him one chance to quit whatever bad thing he is doing and then go for the muzzle. The minute I put the muzzle on he is strangely content and settles down and takes a nap. So strange. Like he is relieved I am saving him from himself, ha. He looks so handsome in it I had to get a few pictures.

That's funny Bonnie.

Years ago we had a male who was so afflicted with pica that we had no choice but to muzzle him, both when we were away and when he was outside or on a walk. I had never seen anything like it and I have never seen anything like it again.

This was before the days of sophisticated muzzles that are pretty much made for different breeds and functions. So, I got him a regular wire basket muzzle and cut out the front wires so he could drink and chew.

He go used it in no time. He basically treated it like his collar. In fact it hung on the wall right next his leash. When I was leaving or taking him out for a walk, I was say: "Bring me your muzz". He would go and grab it and stand calmly while I put it on. I also think it calmed him down. He wore that thing on and off for years. Other than that one quirk, he was a great

It was funny to watch people go way out of their way to steer clear of him when he was muzzled and on leash!
