A Mother's Day Walk In The Park - With Pics, Of Course

A gorgeous morning here in middle TN...mid 40s, blue skies and sunshine . Mocha and I were on the road at 7:30, heading for our favorite park for an early morning hike. We only saw 3 other people on the trails, one was a guy walking his dog and although I try my best not to judge, he was making his dog heel with a very short leash and maybe he's working on some training, I don't know, but I see this a lot and to me, the dogs never look like they're having a good time. Although I do get the benefit of getting some much needed exercise, these walks are for Mocha. I use a 15-foot leash and I pretty much let her go where she wants, as long as she's not pulling me along. If she wants to stop 78 times along the way to sniff, go for it! Ok, I kind of got off the subject, here are some iPhone pics I took today

There's always hope

Nice pics--the lake shot with the sun rays is really neat.

I usually crank up on the leash when I pass people--maybe the short leash guy was just doing that?

I hope. Poor dogs need their sniffing. I'm in there for exercise too and usually trying to truck it, so we take turns, me walking fast and Hairy sniffing. At least, that's how I think of it, but really stopping to let him sniff lets me pant for a bit to recover.

Him, I've seen before and that's how he always walks his dog. There's a lady that walks 2 german shepherds and she does the same thing, she wraps their leash around each hand to the point the dogs are almost glued to her sides. To each his own and at least the dogs are getting out, but I know how much Mocha loves to explore and smell every rock and log...today she was being very sniffy, seemed like she wanted to stop every 3 feet but that's fine with me, I'm in no hurry when we're out there
