57 Degree's ! And what to Do ?

Poor Doberson hates cold weather ! Current temp is a balmy 57 - maybe hit 60 yet this afternoon .

Little boy was in the house laying down - I yelled in there , Lets play ball - he came out at a 100 mph and hit the back door and ball we played - He is so happy

We had that weather yesterday, Ken. So watch out, our snow may be coming your way next.

awwww, happy boy! I'm ready for our snow to be gone.

We had nice weather (for MN ) today, too. It's about 45 degrees. We went for a nice run at the park. Richter is TOTALLY conked out on the couch. Sypha's tired...not asleep, but at least tired....

Cats are napping in the sun. A good day.

Hi Dobegal : ) Mr. B. don't do to bad on bringing the ball back - and I will admit - that in the filming of the video - I was using 2 balls When I use 1 ball - he will bring it back - but just lay down - teasing me - like " Try and get it " lol

As far as the field - that is ours - there is 150 acres in that field + there is a open ditch right behind the house , Back when Kasia was here - we would walk across the bridge and I would turn her lose Its about a 1/2 mile back to the fence , south of us - we would walk and walk - then one day - she jumped a rabbit ! Prey drive went into over drive ! I could not call her off - that was the first time that had ever happened . She ran to the west - So what do I do ? I started walking back to the house and then I laid down in the field ! Trust me - when they can't see yeah - they come looking - real quick ! And she did - tracked right to me - lol I then put her lead back on and I never let her go free again . Now this was back in 2001 or so .

Then with Ali Girl - I would take her back there but not turn her lose - Not because I was afraid she would run off - but it was we got over run by Coyotes ! They run in packs , When we walked , I always was packing , to protect both of us .

I have walked Mr. B. along the ditch a few times , but with a nice fenced in area - just don't like to risk jumping a pack of no goods laying near the water .

Sorry for the around the barn lot story : ))) But , that's just me

Thanks Pamie for the kind words on Mr. B.

As far as the back yard - we had a fenced in area - but I expanded it , had to make the back yard bigger and the new chain link fenced put up , I well say , that's some of the best money I have ever spent .

The draw back ? When it's dark out - I can't see them in the back - Tring to figure out how to get some lighting back there - Have tried the solar and in the winter and lack of sunshine - they don't last - Looking at some low voltage lights to try .

What the word on your trip to TX to pick your new one up ??

Thanks again

You might be able to put some landscape lighting out there. That'd help. I know how that is.....dark as night trying to see a black dog!! As far as our puppy, I think sometime in May. Maybe towards the end. Fingers crossed. Matt is getting antsy and I'm sitting over here saying beeeeeeee patient lol.

Don't be jealous, but it's 70 degrees and sunny here today

Boy Pam - your not asking much of Matt ! LOL

When we have got any of our Pups - that is pure torcher ! The wait !

Kadin was the toughest ! His MEAN sister bite his tail and broke it open and Cindy would not let him leave her till she was knew he was 100 % OK - that happened twice to our little baby boy

70 sounds VERY nice

great video!

We had a problem with the back being too dark, we ran electrical to the shed and put motion flood lights on the back. You might be able to run some power to some posts and mount lights to them.

One thing I forgot this morning to bring up for any of you that may take your dogs out on a farm or out in fields , is to watch what was planted in the field - in our video - the field was in soybeans last year , We cut them off right at the ground and the way they are cut , the stubble , sometimes are like little spears and very sharp , They can cut up a Dogs paw very easily - just something to watch for

HDD has a dark head and rest of his body is speckled gray. At night when he runs around in the back, especially if there is snow on the ground, it looks like headless dog is charging around the yard.

Squint and imagine:

Maybe what Kenny needs to look for is a nice fawn puppy bitch. You really can't see black dogs in a big yard at night (my yard isn't even that big and if they are running in the corners in back or along the fence unless there is a lot of moonlight you can't see them.

And it wasn't much easier to see the red dogs at night.

Poor Dog Dog but I don't even have to squint to imagine what he looks like in the dark.

ABTLH

But Toad (my fawn boy) did more than startle a few people when I was walking him at night in poorly lighted areas around show sites. He evidently looked like a ghost dog--or so a lady he tried to go visit when I had him on a 20 foot leash--she screamed like a steam engine. I ran over to see if she was OK--she just kept staring at Toad--who didn't help matters by continuing to nudge her hand to get her to pet him--and saying "I thought he was a ghost!!!!".

Good information! We have a big field behind our house too, they alternate corn and soybean and winter wheat. We never go back there bc there’s too much coyote activity and a lot of hunting once the field is cut down. This year they did corn..the squirrels love to eat it on the fence and in the trees, dropping corn kernels and half eating cobs in the yard, which Rizzo thinks is great! 🤦🏻*♀️ She’s going to be the death of me I swear it!
