Willie has gotten a few ribbons in conformation and FCAT. Right now they are just sort of piled up. Any ideas/suggestions on a nice way to display them? Would love to see pics of what you all do with your doberkid's ribbons.

Thanks!

I've put some of them in shadow boxes, grouped by title. Before that, each dogs' ribbons are stored in a container.

I have standard three ring binders for each dog--initially they contain the registration, a certified three or four generation pedigree, test results as I test and ring photos and flat ribbons and title certificates from AKC, the Chapter Club I belong to and photos taken at agility trials when they have a photographer and some graduation pictures from classes they've been in.

I also have a big cork board that I got for reasons I don't even remember now it has ribbon on it that were too big mostly to fit in the three ring binders.

And I donated a whole box of ribbons to someone who was making a quilt (display type quilt) which DPCA auctioned off at a National and donated the auction profits to either a rescue or a genetic study (can't remember which now.

In addition to those--I also have another box of flat ribbons accumulated for class placements instead of point wins--I figure some day someone will make another quilt.

The bottom line is that since I've been showing dogs since 1960 an have been lucky enough to have some who did a fair amount of winning I stopped trying to keep track of the less than blue or Best of Winners, Opposite Sex or Breed.

One of my friends did a lovely job when she was on her first conformation job. Her husband made frames for each point win and it contained the ribbons for class win, the picture of the win. And if the dog went further he got another framed picture with those ribbons. And she put them up in the room she was using as a dog room (supplies, grooming etc.

That lasted through the very first show dog--then they ran out of wall space. Now she has a box--but first she had three ring binders.

Good luck....

Mine aren't all out, but I do have a couple of cork boards in the dog room with some of the rosettes and a few specialty prizes. I have a bin of them somewhere, too (gasp!). I have a pile of flat ribbons somewhere else, and usually use one as a bookmark. I donated a lot of flats way back when - the junior handlers used to collect them at shows for a fundraiser, I think. I also have some pegs somewhere that I used to hang rosettes on behind the dogs' crates.

I have two clear plastic "bins". One is 32x16x13 high. Filled to overflowing. The second one is for the last year we trialed. It's 20x14x14 high. The long rosette from the national specialty (11" across x 58" long) is hanging on a hook in the closet.

I started out with a small cardboard box and the ribbons neatly and lovingly folded. Later I got real and bought the big bin and stuffed them in it.

So I guess it depends on how hardcore of a competitor you and your partner are going to be.

I definitely want to do something with them, especially with a few of Brandy's ribbons. It seems to be one of those on "the list" things and never gets done though! I have a vision of them framed and hung up on the wall. Someday!

I bought some display hangers for our ribbons, but...haven't put them up yet. So they are still hanging on a hook in the closet.

One of the tasks for this spring is to organize the ribbons.

With 5 dogs, conformation, agility, bla bla bla, there are LOTS of ribbons all over the place.

I have some of the more significant ones in frames, Kayla's BPIS, Mya's BIS. The Top 20 conformation ribbon will be framed as well (my breeder is a woodworker!).

The rest of them, there are so many. I still have not decided what to do.
