Spoiled Girl

This is a daily ritual at our house. Every morning, my wife has a yogurt then Mocha gets to lick the container clean. And by clean, I mean there's not a single bit of yogurt left by the time she gets done

We do that with sour cream too. Only Hairy gets to take it down into the den to work on it. Or at least he does, if he can get away with it. He's so much better at holding containers and chew toys on his own than the dobes ever were. I think it's because he still has dewclaws.

I have to rinse every bit of yogurt or sour cream out of plastic containers before I can recycle them anyway, which involves some rubbing and sponging to get all of it out. Might as well let Hairy do the first step so all I have to do is rinse with water.

Of course, he'll also stand on a plate he's licking rather than chasing it around the room, which none of my dobes ever mastered. Maybe he's smarter than a dobe. There, I said it. He's just not quite as...trainable. Which is one thing I definitely have noticed. He is quite a bit more independent and more of a...well...dog. The dobes were more like furry people. Hairy is furry, but not a people.

Both Baron and now Miley love licking containers of yogurt, cottage cheese, and whatever clean!

Yeah, all my Dobes from the beginning have had the right to clean dairy product containers--but only the puppies (under 6 months) had heads skinny enough to get to the bottom of the 2 pint containers.

The loaner puppy, Joey, amazed me last night he finished his dinner and I heard him rattling the pan around--looked to see what he was doing and he had actually figured out that if he put his paw in the clean pan he could run his tongue around the edges to make sure he hadn't missed anything.

Henry the Aussie used to do that but Joey's the only Dobe I've had that figured it out.

What a good girl!! Doing her job everyday.

Coco was always on yogurt clean up duty. She would close her eyes while she did it and look euphoric! She was a yogurt snob though. Only Activia. I once bought a different brand on sale and she turned her nose up at it.

Thanks for the pic and the memories.

My wife buys Chobani yogurt in a 12-pack from Sam's Club, which has various flavors so Mocha gets a different one almost every day. As soon as she hears the fridge opening, she's there, and watches as my wife puts blueberries in the yogurt and slowly eats it. I don't think she'd move from her spot in the kitchen even if 50 squirrels ran through the house LOL. And then, she comes to wherever I am, and stands there staring at me till I give her her morning banana (did I mention she was spoiled?)

I love that TN. She is properly cared for by her family lol.

I like that yogurt too but I can't get it here. Only when I'm in the US.
