The Adventures of Mr. B !

Well my very good friends , I know itís been a good while since posting up Mr B but after receiving thousands and thousands of requests from around the world and here in the states , well ,itís that time

It all started on Monday , we took big boy over the vets office to take care of some things , also , this is the first time that my wife has been on one of our adventures . I told her he rides great , just lays in the other front bucket seat and looks out the window . Which he has always has , key word , HAS , today , with mom in the back seat , he was more worried about what she was doing , kept wanting to climb back there , btw , I had him in his seatbelt harness , safety first . Anyway after the 20 minute drive I heard , just sits there huh ? Thanks KADIN ! Then it happened , again , as we walked up to the door , thereís was another guy coming out with a pug , I opened the door to let him out , Kadin at a beautiful sit stay , if I do say so As the guy walked out I noticed he had his dog on one of the ( insert bad words here of your liking ) retractable leashes ! He just got out of the door a step then stopped and looked at Mr. B and then I seen him pop the button and here that pug came running at Mr. B , I had my hands full folks ! I had added a link to his prong callor and it was a bit lose , Wife said as the pug got up to Kadin , Kadin had the pugs head in his mouth , like I said , I was not in a good position with the door in the way , my hands full of 2 sacks of dog food to return and now this nit wit let his dog free , I looked at that guy and in a very mean voice , is what my wife said I used , was Would you please get your damn dog out of my way ! That is all I took , and thatís all I needed to get Kadin to turn into the door , other than that , a average trip , lol

Today , I told him I would come home at lunch and we would all go to Shelbyville Pet Valu store , itís my most favorite And his too ! So this time , I had them both sit in the back and would put Mr B with her , that should do the trick , well it did on paper , now he wants to lay on her lap , lol and again , I heard , he just lays there huh ? Well he does when weíre one on one ! Mr B was walking so good , then I opened the door and low and behold if there was not a lady with a small kid with a great looking Aussie , MALE ! It started out pretty ugly in there , that Aussie had his teeth pealed back and Kadin was not taking that lightly to say the least ! Boy Kadin and a great sounding voice . I was doing pretty good handling him and was really a non event , we walked around looking at stuff then over to the bedding section , they had some really nice looking dog beds , the little ones sitting in the big ones , with the biggest at floor level , Kadin walked up and started sniffing the higher beds and was working his way down them and them I seen that look before and I started to pull him away , but not quick enough , yes my friends , he barely got the bed with a quick shoot of pee ! Oh boy , wife was not impressed and very I need to work with him more ! I said in his and my defense , hey , some other dog did it first and he was just leaving his calling card , MR. Business , thanks again Kadin I told him we were getting 2 new balls for him , then I heard the lady talking to her dog and then here he came from around the corner of the check out , guess what ? She had one of them release leads ! She had let him out , my guess 15 feet ! And that Aussie was looking for a problem , I again just turned Kadin away with ease and he listened very well , I circled around and as the lady left , she turned and said she was sorry ! I thought damn straight your sorry , I wish you had that retrack stuck where the sun donít shine !

Then on to rural king , Kadin , my boy , did a outstanding job , I had a cart and he walked right beside it , wife was impressed ! Then it happened , person after person stopped to ask questions about Kadin , this is the truth here , the first question was , is that a Doberman ? , I wanted to say hell no itís a cocker spaniel, Dunbaó lol but didnít as we looked at things he did the auto stop sit to perfection , I seen people watch him doing it and then they would grin , thanks good boy , kids ? There were several little kids in carts that wanted to pet him , I was not sure what to do , I said leave them in the cart and then they could pet him talk about making a kids day , Kadin was eating up all the affection today , that is for sure and it was so good for him .

I have come to a concussion here , that the retract leads should have a warning on them to not to sell them to stupid people , personally , I think that would cover 90 percent of there users !

It was not perfect , yet itís a start to getting back out more and then see what class is next .

Kadin is pooped out next to me , lol

Till next time

Good boy Kenny--just what your good boy Mr. B needs--something to take his mind off of his loss and you found it. You need to take Mrs. Kenny with you more often so Kadin "gets" that she's going to be OK without his full attention (even if you aren't quite all right).

I love the Kadin's big adventure stories.

I couldn't agree with you more about the stupid retractable leads. People are so stupid about them--as if it wasn't bad enough with people telling you that their dog "Only wants to say hello!" as the dog approaches your dog stiff as a board with his tail and head at alert position. I don't want that dog on a retractable--and out of control.

The amazing thing is that so many of the retractable users are also deaf if you say that your dog is NOT friendly and doesn't want to meet their dog.

dobebug

Here's the tip of the day--tell Kadin that there is no sniffing allowed in his favorite store--it's almost guaranteed that what follows sniffing (for males at least) is a quick whiz.

And walk straight down the middle of each isle, swinging wide at the corners. Rather like you drive your big rig.

That's one of the reasons I stopped taking Mocha to Petco; people with those damned retractable leashes and most of the time, they gave their dogs the run of the store like they were the only ones in there.

She is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are her life, her love, her leader. She will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of her heart. You owe it to her to be worthy of such devotion.

Love your stories about Mr. B's adventures!! I also HATE those extenda leashes!! Have mostly run into issues when people come into the vets with them at full extension. One big snarl from Jezebel usually has them reeling their dog in at record speed - LOL - the two other dogs are not as bad.

Ha Doc, That had me LMAO...

I also do not like the retractable leash in public. We had not owned one until Mila (we were given one)Ö.but in the back yard it has helped with her a bit. But as I have read and knew about them, I was very aware of the use of it and what would happen if Mila got a full steam and the "button" was released.

Glad Mr. B had a good time out with his mom and dad!

Thanks Aunt B , will heed your advise on letting him smell the beds , that was my fault , bad handler !

TN , after we got home ,wife said the same thing , maybe should not take him to the pet store !

There was 3 employees at rural king come up to us and asked if they could pet him , which we let them , 2 said , we hope to see you all in here more . That is a good thing

Our biggest problem when I take Mr. B out has been the other dogs handler with the retrack lead , I told the wife , I learned a lot this week , 3 run ins with the retrack , first thing I do now is look at the other dogs handler and see what kind of lead they have on it.

Fritz , give Jez a big hug for me and tell her GOOD GIRL

Love Mr. B stories and yes, not a fan of retractables either! Too much can go wrong and quickly.

Retractable leashes should be banned........one of our instructors at dog training center has the tip of her finger cut off as a result of those darn things.
Sharpe as a knife when given the opportunity.
Yep.......over the years as I travel around with my dog into public places ......certainly I keep an eye on Hoss ...but...... I really really focus on the humans and how they carry themselves as they note our presence.
Sometimes I can see right away the human is aware and alert and knows their stuff regarding dogs. I think you can just tell.
But then..... there are those humans .......that have no clue as to what is going on around them......we see it all the time .....those folks I will head the other way if possible because I do not want for Hoss to develop any reactivity issues with other dogs ......but if I can't avoid the confrontation ......(check out at the Vet's office) is when this happens most....................I figure it takes a village so I give the owners hell.......if they ignore me then I take Hoss into the bathroom (which backs up the check out line) until the vets staff deals with the idiot human.........then things seem to get taken care of real fast. It seems if given the opportunity ........folks will always blame our dogs for the incident....even if the other humans around ignored the problem and provided no assistance. In my very first training class with my first Doberman ......the instructor always had rule numbers to help us remember things......
Rule # 1: In all circumstances be a good advocate for your dog........because during times of trouble no one else will be.
That sticks in my head and helps me stay away from stupied humans.

Glad you and the Mrs had some time together yesterday.........so proud of Kadin...........sounds like he had a fun day with you and the Mrs.....
