cardio testing in San Antonio

My male moose will be 3 in November. Iím thinking itís time to do one of those echo tests. Can anyone recommend someone in San Antonio? My vet doesnít offer that service. Thanks, Allison

I would contact the local Doberman Club or AKC dog club and ask when the next cluster of shows are. Usually clubs will offer Echo/Holter and CERF clinics at a much reduced price.
Our Utah Doberman club has a holter than members can use for no cost, but will rent them to anyone at a much lesser cost, even than the dog show clinics.

I would also recommend starting with your local chapter club: The DPCA | Chapter Clubs

HOWEVER, for the first echo ever, you may want to do a full appointment with a cardiologist, if it's in your budget. You need both an echo and a 24 hour holter (you can have a clear echo and still have signs of DCM on a holter, or vice versa). It can be really helpful to have a report with a baseline with all the measurements and have a cardiologist walk you through everything that first time if you've never done any of it before. Just my two cents, but it does cost quite a bit more. If it's a question of doing it or not, much better to do it.

You can find board certified cardiologists here: https://find.vetspecialists.com/

The recommended age to start regular yearly testing is between ages 2-3.
