Finally, Back In The Woods :)

For various reasons (weather, health, you name it), Mocha and I haven't gone hiking for a while but we finally hit the trails again this morning. 74 and muggy as it only can be here in summer in middle TN, but once we got in the woods it wasn't too bad. And this girl was as happy as can be. This morning, before we left I asked her if she wanted to go for a walk and she started doing the happy dance...you'd have thought I was about to give her a raw steak lol. We got to the park shortly before 7, so it wasn't too crowded yet. Here are a few iPhone shots...

First, a few pics of the park this morning

And a few shots of Mocha, wearing her bright orange collar so no hunters would mistake her for a deer

And here's my lame attempt to get Mocha to pose in front of some flowers

Ok, it's shower time!!!

Beautiful pictures. I'm a little jealous just because its been a little too hot for fun hikes with my pups!

We've been in the low to mid 90s here, that's why we were out of the house around 6:45 to beat the heat...but even then, it was already in the 70s with that humidity kicking in.

It all depends on time of day, traffic, and how I hit the red lights. Early in the morning, when traffic is light, I can get to the park in less than 10 minutes.

We're actually looking for a house in a neighborhood right across the street from the park; it's a neighborhood of nothing but 1960's and 1970s brick, single-story ranch-style homes with each having an acre or more of land. It's a real quiet, secluded neighborhood, and when you drive through there, all you see is elderly white folks....I call it the local retirement community LOL. Unfortunately, houses rarely come up for sale there, because it's an established neighborhood and people have been living there for years and years and no one is moving out so for the most part, a house will come up for sale when an owner gets sick or passes away.

I know that was way too much information, but it would be great to live basically right across the street and within walking distance of our favorite hiking trails
