I love squeaky balls. HDD doesn't currently have one. I think I've failed him, because he came over to listen and head tilt at me. Time for a trip to the pet store, I guess.

It's almost like the chewing and squeaking soothe her; reminds me of a baby with a pacifier

Toad isn't a big toy dog--not even squeaky balls but his son Burma and daughter Williow love them--and the ones they love the most are any of the Cuz line (I cut off the feet--Toad did like to chew off the feet.

Toad's great love is bones--the older and more chewed on the better--the only sound they make is when they get dropped on the kitchen floor.

Oh yeah these things! I can't remember who here recommended these, but I bought Mocha 2 of them then promptly had to hide them because she gave us no rest...it was squeak squeak squeak ALL DAY LONG.

In a way, it's sorta like my dad's snoring...when I was a kid, I'd wake up in the middle of the night and hear his snores (LOUD) drifting down the hall. It was a comforting feeling; I'd go back to sleep knowing all was right with the world.

A dobe and a squeaky toy? My dog is happy; all is right with his world...therefore mine, too.

Besides, I think the fantastic and varied sounds they can make with them is so entertaining.

LOL mel...

McCoy sleeps up one floor from us, open crated. Ever since he was a pup, he's come down to check on us 2-5 times night. He pushes the door open, walks around the bed and then goes back up to his crate. He used to nose poke me, now I just reach my hand out and he sniffs it and goes right back up to his crate.

Years ago, this habit used to annoy me. Today, I find it comforting and endearing.

If he's happy and comfortable, so am I.

And the snoring used to drive my mom crazy. But then, she was in the same room with my dad.

I guess it all depends of your point of view...and you really can have too much of a good thing.

Mocha's not that bad with the cuz toys now, matter of fact I leave one in her toy corner so she can get it if she wants...but when we first bought them, she was like a crack addict and would walk around with one in her mouth all darned day, squeaking like it was her last chance. And those things are loud!
With the blue ball and a white one she has, she's learned to move them around in her mouth to create different sounds and it just cracks me up. She'll come up to me, tail slowly wagging, with a mischievous look and go through her entire repertoire of sounds. Kinda like being at a concert, only different LOL

Mocha's manerisms are idetical to our 13 year old Sarge. He still dives onto his squeaky toys. Lays down and tosses his head back and forth trying to get one.
