A Fall Day Hike

Actually 2 hikes, not 1. I got up early this morning and went to the park with my camera so I could hopefully get a few deer pics and I went a bit too early; the sun was just starting to peek over the hills so it was still pretty dark in the woods but I did manage to get a few shots. Then I went home, took Mocha to the vet to get her monthly allergy shot and get blood drawn for her Jr. wellness check, and she and I headed to the park for a nice long hike. We got there around 10 and the parking lot was full; I thought back to the time when there was no way I would have taken her on the trails with so many people and dogs present but that was then, this is now First, some iPhone pics from my hike with Mocha:

Gorgeous fall day!

The usual suspects hanging out on the log

Mocha making sure there aren't any vicious deer waiting to waylay us as we cross the bridge

Everything smells better in the fall

Taking a breather

Squirrel alert!!!

The park added 33 acres a while back but we never explored it because it meant going through some thick brush and a grassy area and I tend to attract ticks like a magnet but this morning we took a right and checked it out. Nice path through the woods

The path ends up in this big meadow

Grass as far as the eye can see!

One more sniff before we head home

And here are a few of the pics I took with my camera early this morning

An early morning hiker

Bridge in the mist

And, a few deer that I found

Thanks for looking!

Oh come on here D-Gal - Mel AND 0402 ! Your really over rating those pictures ! This could lead to a big head - for TN - Then his winter hats will not fit - then his ears will get cold - then he will catch a cold - He won't be able to take the Super Model Mocha for her walks - to the park - whatever ! Do you 3 - want to be the cause of TN's demises for the winter ??? Now - here would be the right reply ! TN your pictures are - alright I guess - Keep working at it - your getting better ! LMAO

TN - Great pictures as always ! Funny thing - you took pictures with the ground fog - mist - we had the same thing here that morning - fog was hanging about 6 from the ground - sun was not up - but the sky was brighting up - Mr. B and I was outside - He started working - growling to the East - I thought what in the world did he see - then Just above the fog - I could make out the outline of a Great Blue Herron - No kidding here - I thought dang - I wish TN was here to take a picture of that ! Then it would have been a great picture to post here ! lol

Thanks everyone and Ken, that was funny...I do appreciate you worrying about my ears LOL. Today was a beautiful morning, low 50s and blue skies and with this daylight saving time thing, we got to the park at 7 and there was already plenty light The rut is either right around the corner or already on because we saw 2 nice bucks today but alas, all I had with me was my iPhone and a Doberman

Here's Mocha inspecting the view from the bridge this morning

The pictures are beautiful! Funny we went on a hike here except for us, it was a winter hike since it was snowing!

Wow, photos were like breathing fresh air. Wonderful. Love them all, but the turtles on the log were my favorite.

I purchased a collar from Keepers Collars because of Mocha.

Haha I think I remember you asking me a while back where we got it

I think we may be at the point where a prong collar is no longer necessary BUT, I personally like having that potential safety net just in case, since there are some days when we encounter larger groups of people or a family with 3 or 4 dogs, and, there are some folks that get Mocha agitated when they approach (still haven't figured out exactly what it is about them though). The collar doesn't bother or hurt her during our hikes, but Mocha knows the collar is there, and she knows not to lunge or pull because it doesn't feel good so all in all, I'd rather be safe than sorry

Yes. I ordered the prong collar, too, for the same reason. My Jada needs to be reminded sometimes. She is getting better.
