We are now 2 weeks post-recrop, and he's doing great. The vet said his ear bases are very strong, so she thinks we will only need to post 2 or 3 times.
Uh.... I would call that an understatement.... How cute!
About the posting. Personally I would take your vets suggestion with a great grain of salt. Plan on posting or at least some kind of support through teething. Most pups teeth through their 6th month. My youngest was totally done teething at 5 1/2 months but I still supported his tips with mole foam until he was 7months. Better safe than sorry.
Troy is a recrop, so he's already 7.5 months old. We did posting after the first crop, and they stood on their own for 2 hours before the vet posted them again. I'll post him until they're right, but I think we're closer to done than not. He's definitely done teething (I actually found two and kept them because I'm a weirdo!). I think we gave more tip training than anything, at this point.
We had a re-crop on our older boy for reasons I won't go into in depth here. Basically had to do with focusing on his survival and not the original crop. We never had to start posting again.
Well... your boy is quite handsome. Next pics... Free ears!
