New Camera!

Yep! I went out today and decided that since I had finally saved up some money I was going to go look at cameras. I went to Best Buy and I walked out with a Nikon D40. So I should be posting a lot of pictures.

Mommieee nice camera. Canz I touches?

Gah I love how clear the photos are compared to my old camera.

Have fun with your new slr! Nice photo and hope to see more soon. If you want to learn how to use your slr go to youtube and search for "dslr tips", lots of info there to get you started.

Have fun and share those pics

Picture is a little too 'cool' and it's a little too noisy but congrats on the new camera.

Heh, I'm going to have to figure out what cool and noisy mean. Thanks guys. It's charging right now because I sorta played with it till it died. This is my first SLR...so I have a lot to learn!

First thing I recommend is a "Puffer" flash diffuser from Gary Fong.

PUFFER - Pop-Up Flash Diffuser

It's only about 20 FRNs and really does a nice job on close up photos or when your flash is dominant in a scene. Helps a lot and is very simple to use. Problem with pop-up flashes is the amount of light coming from almost a point source. This device spreads out the flash and provides a better, more even illumination.

I love mine on my Canon EOS Xsi.
