Happy birthday to the best Doberdude. He got new bones, a new Planet Dog ball, and chicken. Ice cream is on the list when we go to the vet's in a couple of weeks.
He's going strong for 11. Weaker in the back end because of Wobblers, but he still loves catching snowballs and hanging around with his GSD buddy, Viking.
I can't say how much I love this dog.
Photobucket is not being cooperative, so I'm switching services and then photos.
Happy HAPPY! Wow, I love to see longevity in Dobermans... My youngest's Grand Daddy (mom's sire) turned 10 last year and still going strong. My older boy's dad also turned 10. Looks like he is 4 yo.
So congrats to Griffin and here's hoping for many more good years. Cheers!
Thank you! I have no idea where he came from, I got him from the Baltimore SPCA 8 years ago. I'm happy to have longevity, I lost my first Dobe a week after he turned 7. I'll definitely treasure all the time I have left with him.
Kip is ten, but hasn’t really been going strong for quite a while. Bad back, IBD, heart problems, allergies, tendency to bloat, mast cell tumor, chronic urinary tract infections, hypothyroid.....But he still wants to go on walks and get his lovin’.
River - seeing this post of Griffin's 11th birthday and doing very well / made my day.
- he just emailed me, 2 weeks and waiting for vet trip / is to long, for ice cream outing...hint-hint
:happybirt...Happy B-Day senior man...:x...seniors rock !!
Such great news... I love reading about our kids at their later ages.. Sofia just turned 11 as well and aren't we all so lucky to have them in our lives for such a long time.. Happy Birthday you beautiful boy you!!
I am so happy for you and Griffin, hopefully you two can celebrate many more birthdays together.
My first Doberman died when she was around 12 years old from bloat....she didn't pull through the emergency surgery. It happened almost 30 years ago and, to be honest, it was my fault because I misread the symptoms. Back then I wasn't even aware of the special health needs a Doberman has.
Happy belated birthday Griffin. Always great to see Dobes reaching such a good age. Hope you have many more years together. I look forward to seeing pics of the old fella.
