Unhappy Infected ears from cropping

Hi,
I’m new here. I just purchased my Dobermann from a breeder. I picked him up a few days ago. I took him to the vet for his “well visit” and the vet said he has a double ears yeast infection. And the tip of his left ear is bent over. I need to know what I can use to remove the adhesive residue that is left on his ears since we have removed the cup from the cropping? I can’t find the unisolve anywhere. I’m in NJ btw. I need to know what store I can buy it in? How do I post pics of my puppies ears? Thank you

Mineral oil (or even cooking oils like vegetable or canola) will work to melt the adhesive. Just work a bit into it, and then wipe the area with a damp washcloth to remove the oil.

And yes, posting pictures could be helpful. There is a tutorial on using Flickr in the New Members section.

Welcome Modernmom to DT ,, As far as the Uni-Solve - I got mine from a local Pharmacy - I called them the other day and they told me that there supplies are out , Wonder why it's in what seems like a short supply ? I did google it up and it shows that Walmart Super Stores have it and I just checked Amazon and they show they have it , both in liquid 8 oz bottles and in wipes .

Some one else will have to tell you how to post up pictures .

BTW I'm in Indiana

I've always been so disorganized that I never manage to have uni-solve around consistently, so I use baby oil—mineral oil (which somehow just hangs around in my laundry closet forever), and find it works well enough that I never end up going out to get uni-solve.

You do need to rub the ears with something absorbent (like a dry paper towel) when you're done, to get as much of the oil off as possible, because if there is a lot left, it will keep the next batch of tape from sticking as well as you need it to.

Here's a thread about removing your pup's posts. I use baby oil the same way the unisolve is used here.
