Please keep my lil'girl in your thought and prayers.
This was my yesterday: She started gagging in the middle of the night a few times then would fall back to sleep. She got up and peed and ate her breakfast, pooped a good poop. Took her with us for some errands. Some gagging in the car. Came back home, she ate a snack, took a short walk, another good poop. More gagging and threw up some white bile a few times. Drank some water. Laid down, more gagging. Trembling a little. Temp 103 and just not herself and then didn't want to eat, not even her favorite chicken. So off to the ER we went. The xrays showed a fluid sak on the one side of her lung but good news is her heart is good. No signs of enlargement on the xray and sounded very strong, good pulse. The vet's main concern was to get her on oxygen as her breathing was labored. Not panting but just not normal. Also, to get the iv meds into. The bad news is that she could have a tumor but we won't know that until they have the fluids gone and then we will see.
When we took her thyroid meds back to the ER, they said she was resting and sleeping ok.
Called about 8:00 p.m. and the tech said she was sleeping soundly.
She will have to stay probably until Monday morning when they close. This ER is only open when there are no vet hours. So 24 hours on weeksend, 7-7 weekdays, and open holidays. So if she is still not doing OK Monday morning, we will have to take her to our regular vet. Luckily, he is right down the road. The ER is nice place. First time there. In fact, she is the first Dobe I ever had to take to an ER.
Just hoping and praying we can bring her home. I am so very worried about her. I hated calling her mom up but we talked last evening after I had an update.
Anyone else every deal with pneumonia in their dog? Can't believe how quick this came on.
