Puppy Vomiting

Hi. This is my first post. We just got Moonlight on the 12th. She is not doing so good right now. She won't eat, unless it's people food, and she's vomiting and now it's turned red. We think she's stressed or might be eating things she shouldn't. Does anyone have any advice? We are taking her for a checkup on Monday.

How old is she? I would not wait until Monday by what you are describing. A puppy can dehydrate and go down fast. I would go to ER now. Please don't wait.

I highly recommend what Cressrb advised , like in NOW

Check in your area for a emergency pet hospital and get her there

Best of luck

I'd also recommend taking her to the emergency vet. If there isn't an emergency clinic in your area, most vets in an area will have agreements about covering emergency calls.

Whatever is going on sounds serious, and as mentioned, a puppy can dehydrate quickly if they are vomiting a lot, especially if she also has diarrhea.

What Rosemary said. Dehydration in a puppy when vomiting can be a real problem. This is true even in mature dogs. Rehydration is pretty easy. Simple rehydration is a subcutaneous procedure. If necessary, it can be done intravenously.

Get to her vet this weekend. Today. You will be happy that you did, even if it just eases your worries.

...and please keep us all updated on her condition. Everyone on this forum loves dogs and will naturally be worried about you and your puppy until we hear from you. We care.

I hope you're at the vet's already, or at least on the way there?? Please, please go right away.

I've had a dog bloat and and another with multiple blockages. Things can get bad so quickly, especially with a puppy. It's really not something to wait and see on.

It truly is better to get her checked out right away, than to be sorry you waited too long to bring her in.

Please keep us updated on Moonlight's condition! Hopefully you were able to take her in to a vet. There are plenty of people here with decades worth of experience with dobes, and they likely will be able to give you advice on her after care, depending on what your vet found to be the problem.

How old is your pupper?
