First thyroid panel + New Bling

So Nadia and I went for a brief visit at the vet yesterday to get some blood drawn for her very first thyroid panel yay!
I ordered the thyroid profile 5 from HemoPet, as recommended by my mentor. The basic T4 required by OFA for the CHIC program is insufficient for Dobermans according to her, because the type of autoimmune and genetic thyroid issues in the breed won't always show up on that one.

And now, we wait

Breed appropriate health testing for Nadia will now be complete.
A few will need to be kept up to date such as eyes, echo, holter of course.
And we will have to participate in the WAE at the DPCC nationals this Summer to get a CHIC cert

AND to celebrate, I am sharing pictures of Nadia's new bling, a very generous present given to me by a family I've been helping with a nightmarish dog-related situation. It was completely unexpected and I may have teared up a little when I got it in the mail because it was my dream collar from Fusion by Design with my dream customizations (and my friend was in cahoots with the family which is how they knew what to order!)

Awesome...

I may have mentioned this before, but I absolutely love Nadia's crop. It reminds me of the show crops of the 70's. Almost identical to that of my boy Britten David (1974-1983). My first Dobe vet was a Doberman judge and a well respected cropper.

I've gotten quite used to the uber long current show crops like McCoy has, but I still think a slightly shorter crop with a bit more bell accommodates a Doberman's head much more esthetically. JMO.

Nadia is a beautiful dog.

BTW... My dog's aren't fortunate enough to have nice collars. They either roll naked, or with a $1 bandana. LOL
