Chloe's on going cough...

Chloe went in a while ago for a echo for an on going cough. We though she had kennel cough, went through 2 courses of meds and still coughing. Well Dobermans and a cough are usually not good... Her heart is completely sound!!! I almost hate to post this up because most of the time a cough is a symptom of DCM but this time it was not. The cardio doc thinks she had the flu or something along those lines. Her heart is normal size and working in great shape. Everything checked out. When I was leaving, the vet tech told me that this one of the only times they have seen a Doberman present with symptoms and it not be a heart issue. They see a lot of sick Dobermans....even they were excited! We are very lucky and thankful. Sorry it took a while to post....I'm a teacher and state testing is overwhelming.

That is great news! I would be sleeping much better now!
Any time one of these guys is not feeling right , if its a limp, digestive issue, or their energy is just not right it is a heavy burden.

Scary stuff!

Fabulous news! DCM is an insidious. I am so glad for you and Chloe that this was not her diagnosis.

This! There were many nights she would cough in the middle of the night and I could not go back to sleep! I had pretty much resigned to the fact I was going to lose her. She is back to her old self- pretty much. She even killed a mole the other day. We are completely thankful. She is my third Doberman. I lost one at 4 due to an autoimmune disease and another one at 6.5 due to his spine breaking down. It's time for us to have one that lives to be a ripe old age!
