Cytopoint

Has anyone had any experience with this? It's an injection for allergies. Zeus's dermatologist isn't completely happy with the way Apoquel is working for him. It IS working...just not consistently. He gets it at the same time each day, and we've had to start giving it to him twice a day as opposed to once, as prescribed, because he would start scratching in the evenings. And even at twice a day, there are times he still scratches enough to irritate his skin to redness. Because of that, she wants to try an alternative option to get more even control with no flare ups.
She gave me a pamphlet on Cytopoint and explained in very veterinary terms the science of how it works. He'd need an injection once every 4 to 6 weeks. I'm curious to know if anyone has any insight on its effectiveness if it's been used on any of your babies. Thanks!

Mu girl has been given Cytopoint. She is 4 yrs old. She will have skin flair ups due to environmental allergies. She could never tolerate Apoquel. She does extremely well on Cytopoint. For her the shot stops her from itching and scratching for one year. Yes that is not the normal perimeters for this medication however this is what the shot does for her. She receives this shot from our Vet Dermatologist. My boy who is 15 months old began to also get some skin flairs which caused itching. Gave him Cytopoint as well and it work for the 4-6 weeks and needed to get more shots for a total of 3. He started getting the shot when he was around 8 months old. The vet stated that it may change with him in the duration of having to repeat the shot due to this age. If he needs Cytopoint again it my last longer You were given a pamphlet and should understand the Cytopoint only stops your pet from itching and scratching allowing the affected area a chance to heal. hopefully this will help your dog

Hi gamermouse,

I was at the clinic taking care of the clinic cats and a couple of boarders and when I put the food order I also did on our orderer of almost every thing else's desk I noticed that she had a print out of Cytopoint sales for 2018. If I'd still been working full time I'd have had a lot more information for you on Cytopoint for you earlier--the clinic actually has a couple dozen dogs on Cytopoint. Just looking through the list which included the names of the dogs and owners I recognized a couple that I know had been on Apoquel and for whom it hadn't been working well--I pulled the chart on those two and read the chart notes and sounded from them like Cytopoint was, for them working well.

There's the report from the left hand Portland.
