Red face Port Hope area/ Ear Posting Help!

Hello All!!

I have read for years, Doberman talk; and have learned an incredible amount of information over the years.
Partly because of DT, I was able to be educated on Breeders in Ontario (and worldly actually). Very thankful.
Always having rescued Dobermans, I now for the first time have puppy from a breeder.

My little guy is from a reputable breeder in Ontario who is very supportive; however quite a distance. Being on my own and due to work, it is not as possible to drive 6 hours every week.
I am looking for some help with ear posting.

I am located in the Port Hope area (being central); circumference is Bowmanville, Kawartha Lakes, Cobourg etc.

Thank you!

Elfen

Hi! Welcome to DT from Colorado!

So what's going on with your puppy's ears? Post pictures! So we can luv your new arrival vicariously (we'll also take a look at his ears if you want to post close-ups)

In the meantime, take a look at our puppy ear cropping section...maybe some of the sticky threads will help you:

Thank you for the nice Welcome. I have researched re the ears...scoured the forum for every issues/good and bad for months. I will look at the suggested posts, Thanks!
The Breeder is great, very supportive! She is teaching me this week-she has videos too on Youtube of her method. Apparently, a new method (a few changes) is happening this time.
I have a lot of Doberman friends who have their methods; I am learning her way of course. I was hoping I could connect with some in my area, if I needed help. I would compensate them of course. Just
nervous as my own Vet (who is fantastic), does not have anything to do with cropped ears. The Breeder and the vet who did his ears, is quite some distance. I didn't have his ears done, the Breeder did of course. Its all new to me! With my rescued/adopted Kids (Dobes), they came in all shapes and size. Some cropped/some natural. Did not make a difference to me With this new little guy, temperament and health is paramount. The ears are a learning curve for sure! I am meticulous with his ears, thankfully they have healed beautifully. *Is there a regular photo upload, not a URL? I am sorry, I didn't see it. I will post some pix. Thanks again!!

The easiest way to post pictures here is to go through an online photo-host like Flickr. See instructions here:
https://www.dobermantalk.com/new-mem...ng-flickr.html

You could try looking here to see if anyone is near you to help you in person with ear posting.
https://www.dobermantalk.com/ear-cro...post-here.html

It is an old thread...but I see that the last person who posted (karlo.b) was looking for a helper in Toronto. You could try PM'ing them and see if they found anyone.

Red face

Hi there!

Thanks so much..I will read the threads.

I somehow, changed the DT forum skin to old school and it it weird and won't change back (the brown/mocha) ...and I cannot add an avatar photo. Simply wont let me. Also, kind of funny...the few messages you sent; says I am almost at capacity! I am not having a lot of tech luck! I would like to post photos of my boy for you to see him, will keep trying. Been very poor scheduling here and major changes w work and home; but wanted to pop on to thank you for the links! I will try this aft the photos. I think I may have to upgrade to a paid subscription. When I started on DT years ago, it was a bit different. I couldn't even find my old user name...it was that long ago!

Thanks again,

Elfen
