I bumped into this breeder after following a link I found in the forum here....I'm kinda excited since she only lives 130 miles away from me...

Well...there are two recent litters. Only one of the 4 parents appears in the OFA database , and that's a stud dog bred by someone else. That dog, Kessler's Born To Steal, has his hips OFA'd, and a cardiac certification as of 2008. However, not only is that cardiac cert. not current, it's not a certification of a normal echo, it's just a certification that someone listened to the dog's heart, which isn't adequate screening for the cardiac disease that occurs in this breed.

I'd definitely have some questions about health testing on these litters. And I'd hope those are just bad pictures of the dogs they used for breeding.

Go visit her place and check them out. Linebred Marienburg.

Crestline has been involved with the Breed for awhile.

Not for me and I would really want to know why this dog died at a little over four years. Quiet a bit of his pedigree is in the two litters they have for sale now. Look at his owners while you are at it.

After looking a little more I would not buy a Crestline or VWolf Doberman. Just my opinion.

Thanx everybody....I haven't called or emailed...wanted to hear some opinions from here first....especially the health testing....I take it that a heart echo is something done every year....She's so close tho, it'd be a nice day drive down to look at her dogs...and ask my list of questions...

Also have you decided on training? Obedience, agility or protection sports? Specifics will help in finding an ideal match that fits your life.

Good luck.

Good, you can ask her why that dog died.

Any affiliation with Holly Peterson/Von Wolfz is an automatic dealbreaker, IMO.

I would check her out, from what I see she has some nice dogs and yes theres some cardio there behind BUT show me a pedigree that doesnt? She looks like she's trying to do her best By titling them and testing. Yes I to would like to see more updated testing But speak to her she may not have updated her site. I've seen alot worse websites then this.
Good luck ;-)

crestline Dobermans

I bought a year old spayed female about a year ago. We have had nothing but health issues with her.
Does Crestline Dobermans sell healthy dogs because this one is not. I contacted them and they said I could have another puppy for $500.00 and now she says she had to get one dog spayed because she got pyometra and the other dog body ate the pups. ???????
