I was just doing some research on breeders in Europe and America, I came across a breeder in US called Hoytts Doberman, or House of Hoytts?
They seem very legit and take their breeding very seriously. Anyone have some insights on this breeder?
I live in the UK and I have my heart set on a crop and docked Doberman, so I must import it.
I always hear people import from Serbia, Russia, Hungary and such EU nations, what about importing a dobe from US to UK?
I Like the masculinity of the euro dobes but the aesthetic American dobe is also very attractive, they have a sharper slicker look which I love.
I messaged Doberman Pinscher Club of America on Facebook regarding importing an American dobe to UK and they replied:
~"Unfortunately, most US breeders will not sell dogs outside of the US to unknowns because it is too hard to monitor their well-being. Anti-cropping/docking laws also halted their exportation to some countries since they are not allowed to be exhibited".
This is a well known commercial kennel (some view as a puppy mill). If you do a search here on DT for this breeder you will pull up a lot of info. Unfortunately it's unlikely a reputable show breeder will sell to an unknown/new home outside the US/Canada. Most people in your situation go with a breeder in Eastern Europe for that reason.
You might want to check with Laurent Forte, laurent300879@gmail.com. Laurent is french, but is living in Serbia. He currently has a litter that is a combination of European and South American bloodlines. It think the look may be what you are looking for if he has any left. He also can have the ears cropped. He has sold several dogs to the UK so he should be familiar with the import rules.
Good Luck
PS I would not touch the House of Hoyt with a 10 ft pole.

You can check with Lisa Shalissa Webb (Shalissadobermanns) - she is in UK and bred to famous US sire Perfex Canis Major(Sirius). You might get partly US bloodline pup from her.But they will not be cropped and docked.
There is a Russian kennel Sant Kreal - though bred in Europe their dogs are very "American" type.
Please check American GCH Sant Kreal Vassal(Dobequestog Profile Page)
There are few reputed US kennels who sell dogs regularly to India - so there is no reason why they will not send to UK.
Kimberthal and House of Hoytt go back for years and while House of Hoytt started out as a fairly mediocre show kennel (50's and into the 60's they have really been a puppy mill since then). I would not consider either of them.
But it's true that many US or Canadian breeders will not sell puppies to Europe or Asia because of the difficulty of knowing how the puppy will be treated since they are so far away.
I didn't know that A'mondes would sell out of the North America area, I know that there are breeders who will sell to South America and I didn't know that Cambria would sell of the North America area. When dealing with Cambria unless you are very experienced with the breed and what a reasonable price and a rational contract would be I'd be kind of reluctant to recommend Cambria--unless they've changed their policies recently their pricing and contractual obligations are, in my opinion, iffy.
Good luck on finding the dog of your dreams--the breeder that Kansadobe suggested may be the best you'll find for what you want and I absolutely agree that I wouldn't touch House of Hoytt with a 10 foot pole.
If you are not able to get from USA - you can try Latin American kennels. You can get beautiful puppies sired by US dogs from these South American Kennels -
Baden Baden
Akido San
Del Secreto(Tiburon's Arsenal (Gunner) bloodline)
^ there is also Nello's Dobermans and de Black Shadow who have had a huge influence on the breed in North America through Lex Luthor, Trotyl and Inaqui.
A couple of United Doberman Club breeders have sold outside of the US and Canada, that could also be an option.
Nothing good to say..... Broke our hearts, got two of his dogs, both dead.
