DO NOT purchase a doberman from Monica. I just recently purchased a puppy from her and she is EXTREMELY hard to deal with. Once you give her your money she will not respond to any of your emails and when she does it will be very short and limited communication. She is very rude over emails as well. Please do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere to buy a doberman, it really isn't worth it working with her.

Did she do all of the proper health testing on the parents? Did you puppy come from a nice pedigree? Did the puppy come to you well cared for, socialized, and well adapted? Was the puppy sick? Could something be going on in Monica's life that she might not be answering to all of your emails in a manner that you feel is timely? I don't feel like you've offered much information other than the breeder not responding to emails.

Our family has purchased 4 Dobermans from Monica Granger Blue (Crestline Dobermans) over the past 20+ years. We do not show or breed our dogs, they are members of our family. Our 4th dog was purchased April 2019. Monica is a responsible breeder who follows a serious protocol in vetting potential buyers. She is extremely knowledgeable about the breed and serious about health testing. We have always received quick replies from her via email or phone calls. She often times has checked-in with us over the years to see how our dogs are doing. I would highly recommend her to people who have done their due diligence learning about the breed and who meet the qualifications any professional breeder would require before placing their dogs in homes. Although she has endured some health problems this past year, her breeding program is active. I am disappointed that the dreamali7 did not have the same experience we have had with Monica.

Monica has been great for us, too

We have only had great experiences with Monica. Rosy is our second Crestline bitch, and we may show her in the breed ring and are doing obedience with her. We were introduced to Monica by Mary Rogers, when we went to her and said we wanted a Repo Man puppy when she was showing him at the Garden.

I have my second bitch from Monica, and she is gorgeous, smart, and easy to train, like all of Monica's dogs. Monica has not been well, and you are mistaking the fact that she cannot speak for a long time for rudeness. Shame on you for throwing shade on a breeder with an impeccable reputation. You might have asked if anyone had the same problem before you went after her. Give her a chance to recover, and you will find her warm and eager to talk.

I've had the opposite experience

I've had two beautiful, brilliant bitches from Monica with no problems. She has had health issues, which may be affecting the reason why she can't speak for very long. But perhaps your attitude is affecting the relationship? Monica has always been very helpful with me, and when we got Rosy, she spent a long time on the phone with me.

I've had the opposite experience from dreamali7

We've had two bitches from Monica and they were and are gorgeous, healthy and smart with an excellent temperament. She has always been gracious and helpful — a true professional. Now that Mary Rogers is gone, Monica is one of the few breeders carrying on the Marienburg line, which I, for one, value highly.

Monica has had health issues and she has an unreliable email provider. Sometimes her email does not go through. We had that problem yesterday. I've suggested to her that she switch her website to another host, but it is kind of a big deal for her. I think those two issues probably unleashed this firestorm.

But I have to agree with everyone and particularly triciakoontz that dreamali7's diatribe could do catastrophic damage to a reputable breeder. I urge everyone who agrees with me to post something positive on Yelp to counter her poison pen. dhow, the Yelp algorithm is hiding your post for some reason. Maybe you haven't posted enough on there to be considered.
These negative reviews are front and center when you Google Crestline Dobermans. It's a crying shame.

I read the review from dreamali7 and was very surprised that they had that experience. I found Monica to be EXTREMELY responsive to all my emails and phone calls. I adopted two of her Doberman and they were outstanding in breeding and temperament. Monica was caring and compassionate and very diligent in her follow up. I can imagine that it's possible that dreamali7 was the problem as Monica does not suffer fools.

I posted early on that I was surprised to hear such a review about Monica since I have 'known' her (over the internet and before that via the show dog hot lines and gossip mills and her dogs I'd seen in the ring--and am very glad to see the posts from people who have Monica's dogs and direct experience with her as a breeder.

I don't do much on the on line on line social groups so posting on Yelp or anything like it is out for me but if anyone wants to quote me there I grant you permission with my blessings. I hate to see a breeder I've always thought was careful, and consistent wen it came to production and care be bad mouthed.

I agree with you that she is limited on her communication skills. And many breeders are. I have known Monica for 20 years. As of late, she has been very ill and has suffered for a long time with serious ailments.

I have known Monica for 20 years and that is the way she is. HOwever, her pups are truly quality bred and I have had three of hers and they are magnificent. Monica is also, and has been suffering from serious medical issues for serveral years, and she certainly cant be in a wonderful mood at this point. But having a puppy from her breeding makes up for not so good customer relations. She is honest and true, and is very consorting to her dogs.

We purchased a beautiful female doberman from Monica of Crestline Dobrmans and we had a wonderful experience. Monica always responded to our emails and phone calls. Our female was shipped from Montana to California and the whole experience was handled most professionally and most carefully. I would, without hesitation, recommend buying a doberman from Monica of Crestline Dobermans.
