Hi all,

I've been in touch with both of these breeders and both are planning on breeding for fall. I was hoping y'all could assist me in choosing which one is more reputable and I just wanna hear any experiences you guys have had with these breeders.

I've read previous threads but they are few years old and I would like to get some new feedback on these breeders.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for that info John! From what I've read it seems that both of these breeders are excellent with beautiful dogs. I guess the most important thing for me at this point is which breeder has healthier dogs.

Are there any public health records for both breeders that I can look up?

I know both of them, Juanita (Heartwood) better than Holly (Pennylane) but I'd rate both as better than average breeders. Neither of them does a whole lot of breeding and both have been showing their dogs for years.

You can also look in OFA records for at least hips and elbows and depending on what either breeder chooses to also enter there are sometimes records for CERF (eyes--and it's got a new set of initials now and I can't remember what they are)vWD, WAE and it's brand new but OFA is now taking entries for cardio testing--as in echo and holter--with or without results.

I believe that they both health test and I know if you ask them they will give you the information on exactly what they test for and results.

Juanita has been involved with Foxfire when it comes to breeding for some years so her pedigrees usually show at least some of Foxfire dogs.

And I should know Holly's breeding lines but I went completely blank. But you can look up many of her dogs in DobeQuest under Pennylane.

I think--that both breeders have pretty decent longevity but beyond that I can't be more specific--but I know that you can count on getting reliable answers about health testing and longevity from either breeder.

Good luck.
