Hi Mary,

Dams pedigree is nice and checks out ,for the sire side as well i just wanted to make sure there is no Z-Factor involved.
Could you please send me some more pictures of the sire and dam and of course the puppies.
The female in the picture u have posted looks pale/white in the face or maybe is flash.
Thanks for all the work, and for your patience with me.
I was planing fly-fishing trip to NE Iowa soon and I wondered if it would be OK for me to stop by and take look at your dogs.
How soon would puppy be ready for pickup?
I will be in touch.

me:
Hi Mary,

I'm trying to get this deal done but u are making this difficult because u did not send me pictures, please send me the pictures. I have no problem sending you deposit but I em not going to do it unless u send me a pictures first.
And now u are telling me I'm the last on the list to pick a puppy, and i was waiting on you to send pictures all this time.

I'm not going to be pressured in buying the puppy without seen pictures of parent or the puppy i don't give a .... what the pedigree looks like.
If you wanna me to buy puppy from you you will let me pick between 3 pups, when I come up there. I'm paying in cash.

Thanks
her:
I have not sold any puppies since the first time I talked to you. I received my other two deposits on male puppies before they were even born. I don't think you understand...I am not pressuring you to buy one of my puppies. You have aqlready seen some of the pictures that are taken incuding my male and female. I would suggest at this time that maybe you should look elsewhere to purchase a puppy. Thank you for your time.
Maery Meyer

Ok what do you guys think ?Only pictures that she gave me are above.
Anybody has any experience with this lady?
Should i run?

You sound like you are on the fence. What makes you think this is a breeder you would want to consider buying a puppy from? For instance, what is your thought process?

I don't know the breeder or dogs in question at all, but from the ad they seem like most others that will advertise on sites like puppyfind.
Here is my first impressions from reading what you posted, btw, all of these are red flags for me, my opinion as a buyer only, other people may see it differently.
They don't show their dogs in anything at all. No titles. They do not health test. No stats on longevity or temperament. And they can't answer simple questions about their very own breeding program and their own dogs, not very open and seem defensive for unknown reasons. Reluctant to share pictures of their dogs. They boast about being grossly oversized dogs as a selling point. They sell on full registration, every puppy. They don't crop before placement.
Again, these things above are what is considered by me to be red flags when looking to buy a puppy.

And they make the false claim that these oversized dogs are "show quality". Not bloody likely!

You'll get a "cheap" doberman pup.... that's all.... may turn out all right or it may not..... to me the bigger issue is that we as a whole, don't support this kind of frivolous breeding.
The pup may turn out to be the biggest love of your life and very healthy, or it may not. Sometimes things show up bad with pups from good breeders too, not to their fault, as there are no guarantees, but the point is that we don't want to support the "don't test, don't know, don't care breeders".

I mean how can you fault a breeder who had tested for everything, bred as carefully as they could for various reasons, and the some fluke thing happens that was carried way back which no one could have foreseen.... give me a break. If they did what they could to try to avoid, then so be it.... nature has it ways ....

The dogs further past in the pedigree were tested, so she chose not to test her dogs - give me a break... she's hanging her hat on some Ch way back in the pedigree... who gives a s***....... So what came after that?.....

I chuckled at this: "I do have a 1 year genetic health guarantee but the good thing is I have never had to honor it."

Whoop-dee-doo!! When was the last time you heard of a puppy getting DCM or Wobblers? Anyone? Anyone?

OP, if I might offer a word of advice about your last message to the breeder (and maybe was made out of frustration, I don't know) but it seemed a bit disrespectful. When you do find a responsible breeder that you plan to get a puppy from, please keep in mind that your first impressions of whether or not you're a suitable home are made through your email and/or phone calls. With the good breeders, it's not a business dealing. You're creating a relationship and whether you like it or not, the breeder will be judging you on how you present yourself over the phone or via email. Also...when you go to a show or working breeder they may not get back to you immediately. If they're worth their salt, they're going to be out working with or showing their dogs, not sitting around waiting for people to call about buying a puppy. I don't know what the timeframe was for your email conversation with this particular individual, but you'll need to demonstrate some patience with the schedule of a reputable breeder.

Run runr run

Don't think you could run fast enough on this one. Never fails to amaze me. If the puppies are truly AKC reg then why on earth would you even mention NKC??? Big Big Flag. I would bet my bottom dollar they can not be AKC reg.

That ad is chock full of big red flags, run fast and run far!

First off, avoid sites such as Hoobly, puppyfind, and the like. Also avoid newspapers and craigslist. DO go to the DPCA's website (found here: DPCA | Home) and check out the breeder referral section. Keep in mind that that list is only a starting point and you will find numerous resources on choosing a breeder right here on this forum.

Avoid anyone boasting "Champion Lines," that is strict BYB terminology. That Champion might be 2 generations back or it might be 5. Either way, unless the parents themselves are titled (and health tested) it's meaningless.

I urge you to check out the DPCA's code of ethics. I can guarantee you the breeders you're finding on puppyfind are not following it.

You might want to post the breeder here so you can get some other opinions. Remember, this dog will be your best friend for hopefully the next 10 plus years, making sure you pick a good breeder is very important for the health, temperament, longevity, etc. we all deserve in a much loved pet.
Please no offense but if you thought this breeder was worth contacting after seeing their ad, I am worried about what the other breeder you picked out is like...

Just a quick question...

If this is how the breeder acts when someone is trying to give her money, I wonder how she would act if a purchaser called her later on with a problem?

the MOM weighs 105 lbs, thats enough to be a warning. Also they are all sold on full AKC registration. Definately not a reputable breeder.
Please look for a good breeder, don't support people like this.
