Di Ravallese

We are looking to adopt a Doberman. I did some initial research and read that Di Ravallese Dobermans are one of the best. I visited their website for more information and saw this spectacular 10 month girl named Lexi. I called and left messages, emailed; I've been waiting for Angela to respond to those phone calls and emails for over 2 weeks now Does anyone know another way to get a hold of Angela?

Copy of my post In the other thread.

Breeders can be busy. They have regular lives (families, jobs) during the week and show/dog things on the weekend.

Have you sent a follow-up email or call? Some times emails get lost in the spam folder too.

Also be mindful of the time of the day at which you call, it will be easier to get ahold of them in the evenings, especially those who have a dayjob to support their dogs that is not from home.

Make sure that your email shows you are serious, thoughtful and well-educated about what it means to raise a dobie.

Last spring, when i first started looking, i sent out tons of emails and got very few replies. Then i wrote out a doggie resume, giving information about us, our experience with dogs and dobermans, our home and yard, and the sorts of things we were looking for in a pup (e.g. gender, health testing etc). we got a much higher response rate. For those who did not reply, we sent a follow up about ten days later, and did get a few more responses.

I know it sounds old fashioned, but you might even consider sending a letter through snail mail. that has become such an unusual way to communicate that it might catch the attention of a busy breeder who gets dozens of calls and emails every day.

I too called Angela Ravallese several times and left messages, sent her a few emails.....its been over 2 weeks nothing back. I guess its time to move on to another breeder, hopefully one that returns calls or emails. Really disappointed with this breeder!!!!

Can I ask how you formulated your messages? Most breeders will be put off if you come in asking how much a puppy is, with no introduction as to who you are or what your experience with dobies and dogs is to begin with.

There's plenty of sources for how to inquire about a dog from a breeder. I know price is an issue with some people but if you're looking for a good breeder you are going to have to expect to pay between 1500 and 2000. Some are even higher in which case they focus primarily on show dogs. Never mention price. Just your situation. Why you want that breed and any other information showing you have a interest.

Really Pat ?? Health testing???? You wanted to breed to my male that was not health tested and were OK with it!
You asked me NOT to judge you over what I have been told over the years and I did not judge you based on what everyone said to me about you.. I said Pat I judge on how people treat me because what goes on between you other people is not my business because it does not involve or affect me . You asked to breed to my male STRIKE that was not even close to 100% health tested ( AND YOU KNEW BECAUSE I TOLD YOU) and not yet even old enough to be completely health tested and not a finished champion. If that's not the pot calling the kettle black hell if I know what is.... All of which you were A'OK WITH! You did not use him because we did not let you. When you were asked about it you lied to the person about it then admitted you lied and apologized her the person you lied to about asking to breed to Strike.. Which made no sense to even lie about in the first place. You liked me until I did not want to do things for you that I had no business being involved in and therefore would not get involved in. This is why I choose to say back and outta it. Geeshhhhh Really Pat. I am even more disappointed.I gave you a shot and then this.

Michelle, all I said was ask for proof of health testing, I have proof of health testing for the parents of my puppies, do you? If i haven't done a particular test I don't lie and say I did. Talk about stories from other people? OMG Michelle, I won't even start. All I'm saying is if you don't health test don't say you did, don't lie about it, be prepared to back it up. I breed nice dogs with great temperaments, finish some of them myself and put my heart and soul into my breeding program. If some people don't like me, that's fine, you can't please everyone.

What's wrong with asking for proof of health testing? There is nothing that requires you as a breeder to do each and every test out there other than your own conscience as to what you think is important. But if you have nothing to hide regarding your health testing, you shouldn't have an issue with providing proof of what health testing you claim you did and what the results of these tests were.

If you feel that let's say OFA hips isn't important to you, then that is your right. However it is my right as a puppy buyer to say I rather have that done so I go to a different breeder. The problem comes in if you say you did it, when you really haven't.

I have no idea what testing you did or didn't do on this litter, but there should be no reason why you couldn't provide the results of these tests in writing to a potential puppy buyer as just about all reputable breeders do.

I think asking for proof of health testing is within a buyer's right. It's good advice in my opinion. And if a breeder does the necessary health testing, then it shouldn't be an issue.

I wouldn't put a deposit down on any puppy from any breeder prior to verifying health testing. No matter how fantastic or reputable they are. Just like a breeder would check me to do due diligence that I will make a good puppy owner and will fulfill my contract; it is my responsibility to make sure the breeder has done what they claimed to do.

I have nothing to hide from you as you have claimed to anyone with an ear and boy its a long list of names. As you wish that you did not get K from me I wish I never would have placed him with you. Its a 2 way street Uta. In 15 yrs of breeding I only regret 2 puppy placements. But I am at peace with it. You have the information that I have from Darcy and the contact info I have. She offered to help you as she has your dogs mother that I did co breed with her. If the info comes from her or me it exactly the same info. Your nice And sweet to her and nasty to me. Thats fine. I could care less. I an not going to respond past this as I am not wasting my time on you and I have been advised not to go into any futher detail about this with you or on any social media by my lawyer as of today.
I tired to work with you when I offered a new puppy you turned it down. I can fix whats broken in your life threw the dogs. I do wish you the best and that you find happyness and peace. Again i cannot respond per my lawyer anymore on this. If it continues i will relay the site and the posts to him. Along with everything else he already has.

Come on you guys. Someone was asking about a completely different breeder and now you're all sniping at each other.

I'm not involved in your situation and usually stay out of this type of stuff but I've had a long day and think people should try to resolve conflicts in a more private avenue than an Internet forum.

Sorry just my 2 cents

Perhaps?? Isn't it against forum policy to take nasty personal potshots? How about one of those good old clear communications like the rest of us receive when we get down on RUDE?

You're right, I must be slipping.

Stay on topic folks. Take your personal disagreements with others onto another platform to discuss them--not this public forum. The OP asked a simple question--keep your responses pertinent to their request. This is a warning.
