Exciting litter news!!

I am super excited about this litter. FOR ME it is everything I wanted. I have been waiting for this for a long long time.

My heart dog the love of my life Stunner who is AM/ INT/ NAT/ U-CH. A'Carrig N Gra-Lemor's Bulgari Gold CGC, TDI, WAC, Service Dog. And will be 7 this year has sired his first litter.Sometimes I regret never letting anyone use him but I wanted his first litter!
He was bred to Bella (A'Carrig N Gra-Lemor Zenyatta Hottie) a beautiful bitch that I bred with Penny Huskey and Grace I Moore. Bells was placed as a show puppy However, Bells did not show as she was kicked by a race horse as a puppy. That does not make her any less beautiful. She has a AKC Grand Ch, UKC Ch Sister, AKC, UKC Ch brother as well as a Canadian Ch sister that is AKC singled out too.
Puppies due in 16 days and counting.
I did this breeding for myself and Bella's cowner. I know the health behind it and what we could be producing conformation, temperament and health wise. I know and have known MANY dogs in the pedigree.
We are praying for Black and red puppies. Dobequestog Pedigree Page

When you say that you are hoping for red and black puppies, is there a potential for dilution?

If the Dobequest info is correct, Stunner is a #7red (bbDD). So he doesn't carry it. Even if the bitch did it wouldn't be produced with Stunner.

No dilution. Stunner is a red 7. He cannot produce it.

This is exciting news!

Did you ever figure out, with the owners of some of your other puppies, what the genetic issues might be, with all the autoimmune stuff?

https://www.dobermantalk.com/doberman...hair-loss.html

I know they've been working (and spending) hard, going to specialists, trying to help their dogs who came from you.

Was just speaking with a very longtime Doberman person the other night, about how worrisome these groups of autoimmune disorders are, in our breed, and how troubling it is, not being able to easily find answers.

Of course, I have no idea how related their pups are to this planned litter you're announcing.

I do hope everyone ends up healthy, and everything goes smoothly with Mama and pups.

Those 2 puppies are outta the same bitch. She will not be bred again. The dam does not have any health issues no did her father or dam. I went through the pedigree and checked. Thank goodness she only has 6 puppies in all out there. Out of the puppies she has produced they are they only ones with any problems. Which makes me sad when any dog or puppy weather I have bred it or not has any problems. I am available to my puppy buyers when they need me. I have been right there with Mocha's owners as have the stud dog owner which I am a co-breeder on. Mocha has allergies and I no longer have contact with the other owner. So cannot refer any info or updates to her.
Those are the only 2 in 15 yrs of breeding

Interesting, thanks for the info. I've tried to keep up with the health threads as that's one of my main interests in our breed.

So, other than the dam being hypothyroid, she hasn't shown the same food intolerances/GI issues/allergies that two of her six pups are reportedly showing?

And yes, it is sad. No matter the circumstances. Such great dogs, and yet...so many heartbreaking issues in Dobermans.

It's too much of a hijack on your announcement thread to really get into, but I'm just intuitively going down the path that these many issues our Dobermans have all link back to basic autoimmune disorders.

The Hashimoto's that afflicts so many of the thyroids (hence the low thyroid values, like in those pups' dam) is autoimmune--I think one day medical science will link so much more, as the endocrine system and GI control everything, inflammation, immune system, all of it. And we know cardiac health is linked to all that, as well.

Okay, back to puppy talk

Since Khaos is one of the puppies mentioned I will briefly chime in.

Stunner is the littermate of Khaos and Mochas mother Cherry, Bella is sired by Khaos's sire and her mother is another littermate of Khaos and Mocha's mother. To my knowledge there were actually 9 puppies total she gave birth to. Two in the first litter, 2 in the second litter, of which Khaos was one and then 5 in the third litter, but one of them died.

Khaos is severely impacted by allergies and seems to have in general immune issues. He also experienced issues with his hip at 3 months which let me to discover, when I called OFA, that the mother was not OFA preliminary Excellent certified as was claimed by the breeder but that OFA in fact never received any Xrays for the dam. I also discovered that the dam is not Thyroid Normal but is in fact Hypothyroid, again not as claimed by the breeder when I received a copy of her thyroid report 4 months after getting Khaos, showing that she was in fact on 0.8mg of Thyrozine twice a day. I received no documentation to substantiate additional claims by the breeder of the dam being, Liver Normal, Cerf Normal and vWD Clear despite asking for it on numerous occasions. After I was promised I would be able to see and get copies of all the health testing prior to picking Khaos up, I was then given a lot of excuses over the next few months, including being told that nobody ever asks for these documents. My relationship with his breeder deteriorated severely with every new health struggle Khaos faced, so I find the claim that this breeder is always there for her puppy owners is at least in my case not true.

I will add that she did offered to replace Khaos with a puppy from her subsequent litter when he started experiencing the hip issue which I declined since I had already bonded with him and to me he is a part of my family and not interchangeable.

I hope the fact that Stunner is apparently, at least according to his Dobequest page, also hypothyroid to some degree doesn't impact the immune system of the puppies and I wish whoever buys those puppies the best of luck.

Just out of curiosity, is there are reason that Stunner isn't OFA'd for hips and elbows? I don't see it in the OFA database or on his DQ page. I do see a reason listed why Bella's hips aren't done but not sure what affect that injury has on a hip joint.

The reason I'm asking is that it seems that even the old school breeders always do hips/elbows at a minimum.

Bold, mine.

And one would think that would go double, or triple, for an animal being worked as a Service Dog.
