Looking for a Red Male Puppy

I am looking for a Red Male pup. I am an experienced Doberman owner, but certainly new to this forum. In the past I have owned three Red males, all from Champion litters. I am not interested in Confirmation work. I go to Obedience trials and do therapy work. Above all else I am looking for a companion - with all of those wonderful Doberman traits that make us love them. My Red Male - Jack - died two months ago at 11years old. My previous breeder will vouch for me as she has been very active in the Confirmation world for years. I will provide that information when necessary. I am located in the St. Pete area of Florida. Please contact me with any recommendations that you may have. The ideal pup would be the companion pup from a show litter. Thanks in advance. D

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your loss of Jack.

Welcome to DT.

Have you started with the DPCA breeder referral list? Might give you some leads to start investigating.

Check Carosel Dobermans. Carol Petruzzo is in Brooksville just north of you.
Dobermans of Carosel
There are excellent breeders in Florida.

Welcome to the forum. I am new as well. My prayers go out to you in regards to the loss of your friend Jack. I am currently in search of a Doberman myself, and have always been a sucker for a rust/tan. 11 years is a long lifespan, as I've heard of numerous stories of this breed dying much, much younger. If you still have ties with the original breeders of Jack, it may be a good idea to contact them. Even if you had to wait on a planned breeding.

If I interpreted your post correctly, you're not interested in confirmation shows, but would like a dog, from a "confirmation" Ch litter. Also, how was Jack as far as obedience, and therapy work goes? How was he as a companion?

My point is, I know 11 years is a long time, and by now, a breeder may be breeding a different lineage (or maybe not), but if their standards are the same now, as they were then, you may just hit the Jack Pot again, if Jack was truly everything you love about this breed.

Good luck in finding your next companion, and again, sorry for your loss.
