Thumbs down Mikjulora dobermann

I bought a Doberman Bitch from "MIKJULORA DOBERMANNS" that's Michael, Julie and Laura Estill. The 1st bitch I had went in for routine operation to be sprayed and sadly died under anesthetic. I never paid to have the post mortem as my thoughts at the time were t wouldn't bring her back. I wish I did now. I then was so desperate for another Michael offered me the sister of my dog that died. I took her right to the vets for a check up and sadly her breed was so poor. Her immune system is so low that she picks up basically anything going about. She has been on steroids for a mites skin infection since I got her that I cant get rid of because her immune system cant fight it off. She's cost a fortune in vet bills and Michaels response to me " ITS NOT MY PROBLEM" that man took 4000 off me for 2 sick dogs and refuses to have any responsibility. Michael Estill is the most disgusting man I know and he calls himself a dog lover, he inflicts cruelty on poor and inbred dogs. It is now clear for me to see that my first bitch died because she wasn't strong enough for the anesthetic and now I'm looking after an a dog that will be sick for the rest of her life.

Moral of the story STAY AWAY FROM MIKJULORA DOBERMANNS

I am very sorry you went through that, but I thank you for making a thread about it on the forum so that anyone googling their names might find this here.
Did your first bitch die because of the anaesthetic or was it vWD because she wasn't tested/neither were her parents?

A lot of his bitches are vWD carriers. So with my middle school knowledge of genetics good possibility that those puppies could test positive in carrying the disease. Correct?

PEDIGREES - Mikjulora Dobermanns

My fur babies... Always in my thoughts and heart.

It is not exactly positive/negative, it is clear, carrier and affected. So the puppies could be affected if the dams have been bred to sires that were carriers or affected. Since it is only active with two copies of the gene, Carrier + Clear = clear, carrier.
Carrier + Carrier = carrier, clear, affected
Affected + Affected = affected
Clear + Clear = clear
(this is rather basic and rudimentary, from what I understand sometimes even with two copies of the gene it is not as active as it could be?)

Which is why if you had a carrier dam bred to a carrier sire, you need to test the puppies, and it sounds like these breeders possibly didn't.

The one sorta complicating factor is that even if dogs have been found to be genetically affected (two copies of the faulty vonWillebrand gene), the tendency to bleed differs from dog to dog. Some dogs bleed readily even with simple bumps and bruises; others never seem to have a problem throughout their daily life, though if they had to face surgery or extreme trauma they would probably have bleeding problems.

It is also true that the level of the clotting factor involved in vonWilleberand's drops as the dog ages, so a young affected (genetically) dog may have no problems with tail docking or ear cropping, or even a s/peuter, but may develop significant problems later on in life.

Moral of the story STAY AWAY FROM MIKJULORA DOBERMANNS
I was speaking to Michael Estill l about buying a Dobermann and even went as far as giving a 250 deposit. In the end, I pulled out of the deal. I do not recommend him/Mikjulora doberman for the below reason:
- Did not ask me ANY questions about why I want the dog and how I plan to look after it
- Did not want to answer questions
- Did not want to provide pictures of puppies
- Initially offered to refund the deposit if I did not want the dog (over the phone), but then refused to upon me pulling out of the purchase (also blocked my number)

I have since carried out some research on Michael Estill / Mikjulora and it seems my experiences are not unique. Cowboy.

STAY CLEAR
