I need help finding Linda Moore

One of my neighbors is looking for a Doberman puppy. I have purchased 3 from Linda Moore and I'm looking to reconnect with her. Does anyone have a current phone number? Is she still in Greeley.

Thanks

Hi, welcome to DT.

You have three dogs purchased from her, and she hasn't kept in contact with you?

What does she do with her dogs? Conformation? Sport? Working? All three?

If she's active in these venues, chances are someone here will know her.

That's funny, it says lifetime support on her webpage (which I found by googling)

I found it, but I'm reluctant to give it out. Are her dogs titled?

Some people just have terrible Google-fu. It's what Let me google that for you is for.

So anyway, I'd think Linda would probably have fixed her website before advertising ("Puppy Questioner", LOL!), so I kind of doubt that'd be the motivation. It's really not putting her best foot forward to have anyone looking at that site.

I think Linda used to show Dobes, not sure if she does anymore. Maybe she meets the forum definition of BYB. I don't think she has the Reputable Breeder checklist.

I did get my previous Dobe from her (not as a puppy, but at a couple years of age), it suffices to say that I had an exceptionally good experience compared to others. She had a stable, bold temperament, was super healthy until she was dying of what was probably undiagnosed, and therefore untreated DCM (my vet was at a loss) at the age of about 11.5 years. Hard to complain about a disease that seems seems to kill the majority before they even hit 9, when she basically qualifies for an LC-11 without even being on meds that could've artificially prolonged her life.

That's just one anecdotal data point, hard to say how typical my experience was. There don't seem to be any BBB, Ripoff Report, or forum complaints/questions about Linda, which seems like it might be worth something considering how long she's been breeding Dobermans and how many litters she's probably produced over that time.

But the Pug breeding thing, that's hard to defend. At least she doesn't sell Puggles!

ETA: Forgot to mention, I didn't get Kira-puppy from Linda. I lost her contact info, forgot her last name, and misplaced my older girl's papers, only finding them a few months after her death, which was over a year after my puppy search! I absolutely would've considered getting another Dobe from her, especially since my old girl was still perfectly healthy at the time of my search.

Wait, who was that the other day/nite we were talking about in Denver, Colorado Springs or somewhere in CO. Several of her doberman owners came on complaining about her.

She had the same dog listed as one of the studs she used, Paragon's O.M.I.N. Trouble, "Astro". Someone came on and said the owner of Astro quit letting that person use him when she found out how she treated her dogs...bred them over and over with one girl having three litters a year more than once.

She stated below Astro's picture that he was to start his show career in 2011. I googled his name and it didn't pull him up, so he must never have won. I wondered if he was ever even entered cause I think that should pull up, too.

I think it was mentioned on the WhiteSage Doberman thread, the ones that were horribly inbred. I googled Paragon's O.M.I.N.Trouble (the dog on Linda Moore's site) and found he was listed as a stud on Whitesage's site too.

Yes, it was Whitesage. Good grief, I forgot about the inbreeding part!!! Now that's either just pure laziness or cheapness or maybe it's both.

He seems to belong to Paragon Kennels, another breeder in Brighton (south of Greeley, pretty far north of CO Springs). Seems they're probably just standing him for whoever will pay the stud fee, and in the case of Whitesage, don't really care if they're associated with bottomfeeders.

I had my own experience with Linda Moore.

Many years ago I bred a litter and one of the puppies went to the stud owner for socializing. Through her, I was contacted by Linda. She had all the right answers and sent lots of pictures. Moore was her new married name so when we made inquiries about her, none of the local people had any bad news to tell. Being before the availability of the internet and the research ability, Riley was sold on a contract to her.

Not long after I found out by accident that she had completely misrepresented herself to me. Her "spayed bitch" was actually intact and had had numerous litters. She also had a commercial kennel license and bred lots of dogs. There were other issues as well. The rescue people had issues with her but knew her by another name. The fact that she had changed her name really worked to her advantage.

Linda wanted a champion male...so when I offered to have her send me Riley and I would finish him she jumped at the chance. I picked him up at the airport in less than stellar condition (I still have the pictures I took at the airport) and dropped the letter from my lawyer and notice of repossession off at the post office on the way home.

As soon as she realized I planned to return all her money in exchange for signing off the dog she jumped at the chance, although she had previously professed to love the dog dearly. LOL She even sic'd her vet on me.

I learned my lesson with her. I will not sell a dog out of state unless I can verify EVERYTHING the new owner tells me. If no one can vouch for you, NO CAN DO.

That must've been not all that long, maybe a couple years tops, before I met her.

I suppose it's probably pretty hard and requires a lot of patience to get a breeding/show-quality animal from an established breeder, but misrepresenting oneself as a shortcut to "success" usually ends poorly if the deception is ever caught. Recovering one's reputation after that, even more difficult than just being patient and hardworking. It's pretty sad when someone does something like that for a short-term gain.

I don't think their intentions are ever to have a better dog so much as just the titles to make "the product" more appealing to an uneducated public. These type breeders make their livings riding the coattails of established reputable breeder's years of hard work and investment.

After years, I have finally forgotten which albino byb it was, but they sent in someone else to purchase an Adlercrest doberman for them.

Haha, wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Cheryl who informed him what albino byb ended up with the dog. But they sent in a ringer to purchase the STUD puppy. That's how you see Adlercrest in byb pedigrees now. Well probably way way far back now aa this was in about 2001/2002...around there. Philip did sell another boy to a byb, but she was better, not your typical byb. Think that boy was Marc or Marco von Adlercrest ...time is hurting my memory.
