Hi greenboy!

Ok... So my youngest was fed Acana from 14 months up until recently. He did extremely well on it. However, it is an extremely rich and high protein kibble. A lot of dogs really don't handle it well. Personally, I would never put a puppy on that diet.

What worked for McCoy from the time he came home until I switched his bas kibble was Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy. He thrived on it. Never an issue. This was at the recommendation of his breeder, whom I trust totally have owned 3 of her pups.

Some folks dis this kibble, but it is a 4 star food and geared towards dogs like Dobermans, who are although "medium" sized dogs are usually treated as "large" breed dogs due to their bone structure and early growth patterns.

I am currently feeding Purina ProPlan (Savor Salmon w/rice) with great results.

So... All this is just my experience and my singular opinion. McCoy will be 5 in a couple of weeks.

Best to you and your pup!
