I had good luck with Nutrisource foods - started with large breed puppy (chicken/rice), but it made my pup really smelly, gassy, and flaky. I've since switched to their ALS grain free varieties - usually lamb/pea, but sometimes my local store doesn't have it in stock, so I've also used the ALS grain free chicken/pea formula. He's still a little flaky, but that could be from all the baths/cold winter air/etc that comes with the stinkyness of the past and cold MN winters. His coat is very sleek and shiny though, and the flakes are improving.
Not sure where you are located, but Nutrisource is made in MN, USA - so it may not be available everywhere.
