Does your kibble contain any fish? If so, I'd also try sardines in water a few times a week - start with just a little bit, not the whole tin. If your kibble doesn't have fish in it, your dog may not be able to handle fish at all. I would discuss alternatives with your vet - the benefits of fish oil are primarily the heart benefits, so while there are other oils you could try, none are the same in terms of heart health.
