Well... there are some price differences depending on location Here in the Pacific NW, I would expect to pay about $2500 for a pup from a recognized excellent breeder. Obviously, that includes cropping, docking and dewclaw excision. Also, all the immunizations and parasite treatments one would expect at that age. And of course the costs of raising a pup until the age of 8-11 weeks. And this is a region with many wonderful breeders to choose from.

I paid $2500 for McCoy Thanksgiving 2014 and thought it was a bargain. He was purchased as a pet/companion on a limited registry. Honestly, given the fact that his litter was a result of artificial insemination, with all the incumbent costs, I don't even see how Michelle broke even.

One last thought.... Given what this pup is liable to cost you over its lifetime, the last place I would scrimp is on the front end.
