I have the tri-tronics sportsmen g-2, they have discontinued that collar and it's now the g-3, I think. It's been a great collar and I have no complaints. I personally want a 1/2 mile range on mine as I hike in the woods where range will be affected.

If I were going to buy another collar now it probably would be this one: Dogtra Electronic Collars - FREE SHIPPING Offer - DogEquipment.com

The price does go up with the range, if you can live with less range the price goes down.

I think Dogtra and Tri-tronics are probably the best.

And, I agree with Kim re don't buy any cheap off-brand. I use my collar as an insurance policy when hiking in wild-life areas and I want it to work if needed!
